I seem to have developed an interest in a trail runner/mild crawler, for trundling about in the garden.

Got intrigued by the Carisma Range Rover, then thought a CC-01 Defender might suit me better. Then I thought "ooh the CC-01 Bronco looks quite nice". Also the Bronco body looked simpler than the Defender.

Found the Bronco in stock at Tamico.

So I ended up ordering a Toyota Hi-Lux Extra Can

The Toyota is €149.99 at Tamico. Even with paint, some masking supplies and courier shipping (due to the paint) it's come out cheaper than the kit alone in the UK.

So the thoughts of a simpler body have gone out the window. I might have to send it to @jonboy1 for paint and stickers - he likes cutting decals out :P

You know, between you and @acprc this is borderline abuse!

Decided I threw in the towel too early on my FF02 / TL01B / MAD BULL mashup so had a tinker with it, will put radio gear in later and see what happens.

I put the finishing touches on the Wild One restoration.

This is another one i've had on the back burner for ages, i had a couple of NOS body sets and no excuse not to get on with it while i am on lockdown.

Not often I get thanked for not doing anything - except with a huge dose of sarcasm applied by Mrs. Jon of course :P So I'll take it ;)

All good with me Jonboy.

I’m tackling the unfinished WW2 next so I’ll thank you in advance for this one 😂

Let me know when your hands have healed and there is a space in the queue please-I’d like to send a 3 speed up to you when you are ready if you would still be happy to take 1 of them on 👍

Started on my Wild Dagger rebuild yesterday and today, mainly as still waiting on parts for my other build.

New bearings and hardened gear set in both gear boxes as well as the hop ups seen here.

Put together a bull head flag with an antenna tube to make a flag for my lads WT01.

Was trying to find cheaper scale alternatives but the Tamiya ones seemed to be the best size.

I cut a line down one half of the pipe and fed the flag down the cut with some card behind it to help get it in.

Just need to come up with a design to 3d print a flag pole holder.

Fitted shiny silver internal sprung shocks to the Mad Bull. It has gone from being a squeaky pogo stick into a silent ankle assassin.

An interesting combination of parts. This is my take on the idea:

Started masking and painting body on the konghead. This time I’m doing the body first so when I do the build, I can whack the body on and just go!

I must admit, the Tamiyas have been a bit neglected this past week or 2 - the local high-school chopped down one of the trees on my track, and I haven't gone and worked out a new layout yet. It is, of course, still slightly illegal to be out driving RC cars, so I've been concentrating my efforts at home. I have built a course for my 1/24 HBX Crawler, complete with bridges & ramps. That's taken up quite a bit of time, as well as doing some gardening with a lot of free materials courtesy of FB marketplace! I will upload pictures, I'm quite happy with it now.

I have finally found a suitable set of 1.55 white 'Sunraysia' style wheels for my Toyota FJ40 CC01, so hopefully they arrive soon (they're coming from about 20kms away).

For people building Kongheads, here's a "mod" I developed using spare plastic links for a Traxxas:

It makes a huge difference to the body wobbling and rattling around.

Just waiting on the front bumper to arrive from @Doc Hollywood and I’ll show and tell 👍

Not to your standard, but a half decent 1st attempt that I have learnt a lot from.

Headed out for my afternoon walk with my daughter to get her out of the house for an hour or so and decided to take my axial bomber with me instead of my usual cc-01.

It's an astoundingly capable rig and it goes over just about anything I care to aim it at. I found it was great fun at first but I actually started to find driving it a bit boring because with the cc-01 I really have to think about what I'm doing but the bomber is up and over stuff in absolutely no time at all all.

Still it looks pretty cool while doing it.
