twisty 8 Posted August 30, 2007 Untill recently i always dismissed the Mini`s (wierd mental block)but after a couple of small friendly local meetings i have to say i am smitten with them. Absolutely superb cheap fun.Similar vibe to the Lunchbox/Pumpkin = just great fun.
Mad Ax 9147 Posted August 30, 2007 Fantastic video - almost crying with laughter here. Not sure what is funniest tho - the RC ramp, or the Japanese translations - "I dislike such a self-running ramp" I never realised Minis would be so capable on a rally circuit - what mods are required to get a Mini to run so well on dirt? Always been tempted to get one but I've cut my tarmac chassis collection back to just one Corally for indoor-racing only.
TWINSET 1793 Posted August 30, 2007 I never realised Minis would be so capable on a rally circuit - what mods are required to get a Mini to run so well on dirt? One popular mod was cutting TB-01 rally-block tyres - removal of a couple of rows of blocks left the tyre Mini-wheel diameter. Also check out CLICK MORE MORE - WITH PICS! Demon Dave 3 Posted August 30, 2007 I have a couple of M03 mini coopers that I really enjoy running. They're such a laugh, tough as nails and cost next to nothing. Never really ran them off-road, but that video has me inspired...
terry.sc 16 Posted August 30, 2007 I never realised Minis would be so capable on a rally circuit - what mods are required to get a Mini to run so well on dirt? Well most of these are standard, one or two with cut down rally blocks but most with standard mini radial tyres http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp?id=1629&uid= http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp?id=2491&uid= Japanese ones, mainly just rally blocks and oil shocks. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp?id=1390&uid= http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp?id=2313&uid= Grahoos page on rally minis that inspired us all http://minirally.cool.ne.jp/

cianhanrahan 2 Posted August 31, 2007 I bought a lexan underbody ages ago, but I never got around to fitting it. Has anyone else used these with any success?
tupers 0 Posted August 31, 2007 I had a lexan under body on one of my minis a while ago and it go completely totaled unfortunatly . Ive had an M03 mini for allmost 4 years and I've never broken one part on it. I've had an M01 for even longer and the only parts that I've broken on that is the steering pivot. Tamiyas mins really are deaf proof I recon the only thing that can kill one is a car crusher and that would stugle . Tupers
tony gray 0 Posted August 31, 2007 We dont bother with underbodies, just run em as they are. Havent had any problems with doing so. Just make up a bash guard for the front, thats all you really need.
