Hi all,

Im Derek, from Hong Kong

Sorry for my bad English, but I want to find someone teach me what can I do.

Few weeks ago, Im search on the Internet and want to find a vintage RC10, and I meet Gixer Jay in this web site.

After many discuss with him, he agree to sell one of the Vintage RC10 (already built but include all original things) to me and he already ship out the package to Hong Kong on 20 of August.

On the 28 of August, I got the package and opened it at once. There was only an original box with car and some parts, but the body, wing and driver were missing.

Jay told me that maybe the U.S. Custom opened and checked the shipping box then lost it.

Is it frequently happen in US? What can I do right now? Which department in US I can ask?

Actually, this is my first time using a big money to buy things from US and get the bad experience and depresses me.

in all the years doing business round the world I never had US customs open anything. Canadian customs once, but aside from shoddy repacking nothing else was wrong.

now when i arrived not long ago it looked like this all bent broke chasis and nuts and some missing.

also looks like the bottom of the chasis has been pulled apart as the screws arnt flush and the chasis is

odd like its uneven and there cracks in the plastic. :P

now i collect these trucks to rescue and keep them in mint condition. so thanks to ether ups, parcel force

or customs theres one less hi rider out there. ive done my best to fix it up.

and ive got a brand new body and decals. also the place i got them from is looking into geting a new gearbox

cover.

im away at the moment but when im back rest asure im gunning for ups, parcel force or customs. we have rights

and i will track down where its been, as it was recorded. i FED UP WITH OUR LAM **** RUBBISH OF A MAIL SERVICE AND THEY HAVE THE CHEEK TO KEEP STRIKING.

sooner or later theres going to be other companys taking on mail and i for one cant wait.

to be honest im ashamed at the uks services.

this also has an affect on the sender as they wont send out of usa again. theres stuff i wanted but the sender just will not send to uk. i got told its not safe to send to us.

im sorry for your bad experince but really ive had oh 30 items from usa and this is the first time its happened to me.

anyone else in this boat.

thanks

i forgot to say find out the name that brought your rc10 then phone them

and tell them your problem. then ask the company that brought the rc10

to them customs ect. you will find out but sad to say it will take awhile

and it wint be easy.

but in the end you should get some money back or all if anything is broken.

but as for losing both our extra bits with the models. Whats that all about then? is going on are they

imploying a bunch of monkeys.

hope it all works out

Dereck,

The only bad things I have had happen in sending things out of country is Canada help a package up for 3 months one time. It finally got there, but took forever.

I have sent to France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and many other places that I can't even remember, and I had nothing like this happen.

Sounds kinda strange that this would happen. That's why I always recommend getting insurance on it.

My thoughts are Customs usually checks things coming into a country not leaving and they have x-ray, chemical testing equipment etc... before having to physically openning the parcel up.

Does the package looked openned and re-taped? Any clear indication Customs inspected the parcel? What condition was the package?

Also, is the seller reliable?

Could the Postal service be responsible?

I regret to say, you may never find out who is to blame and get compensation for your lose.

The package might of got caught in machinary and crushed and broken open,it does happen.Insurance is the only hope for any payout.

On an upnote Derek, your English is pretty good .

Have had parcels sat on by the Post's Resident Elephant,

Airmail parcels that spent 6mths going by Sea (with a sticker "may be waterdamaged")

and one even came totally soaked in oil diesel/kerosene (boy did it stink!!).

But none yet where parts are missing.

Hmm... someone at the postoffice is collecting RC10s too? :P

thanks for all of yours kindly reply and wording.

i had a question is anyone know if US Custom have right to open any box, but they will use kind of custom seal to stick it back? or have any sticker, label on it?

in Hong Kong, the Custom Department will tape a seal to prove that they are open it before.

Custom Inspectors have every right to open any parcel / contain deemed questionable or by random check.

I would say the chance of US Customs checking on goods leaving the States is extremely low and the goods is heading to Hong Kong. (Unless the seller's or buyer's name is on their Terror Watch list.)

I think the focus should be on the Seller, Hong Kong Customs or US or HK post office.

I hope this will be the only and last time you will have the same experience.

If you didn't throw any package material away, first thing i will do is to examine carefully to see if you could tell the box has been opened and re-seal.

I Norway the Customs leave a sticker on the incoming boxes they open, for the receiver to know.

But I don't know if that is a worldwide thing...
