North West Nutters should be holding a meet at the Wrexham Track on either 6th or 13th October, but obviously this is open to any other TC members that would like to come and join in.. just a 1 day event, nothing too organised just normal "run what you brung" sort of deal on an excellent track with decent facilities and adjoining areas including gravel and grass banking (trialers?)

Please reply here if you are interested in coming along a minimal fee will be charged for the use of track but it wont be much.

I will let you know for sure later today.

I'd be there, got plenty of on road stuff that could do with a run out. Have to get a shell painted up for my Corally Pro10 and somewhere to give the new drift chassis a try out.

I can see if I can get some mates interested, might see if Col and Ken could bring their bikes?

Sounds good, any preferences on which date?

No date preference. Just checked the bike calendar, BRCA national on the 14th at Aldershot for the bikes, I'll have to ask them if they fancy it when they get back from the worlds next week(expecting at least one trophy!) Probably got more chance of getting them to join in on the 6th then.

No one else interested? :D

Not sure that its that organised fella, I was just planning the usual nutters meets (informal and fun) just on a decent track. Sure something on day could be arranged if you wished.

B):unsure::angry::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Not been to a NWNutters meet then!

I could bring my lap counting equipment if you want Daz, but you'd be the only one being timed.

i should be up for that, might a few friends come along too, will be able to confirm when i see them. wounder how the e-savage will take to a race track sounds like we are going to have a laugh.

Well there's plenty of space for them

Well I would not mind the lap timing equipment . I would like to compare a few chassis and set ups. But if I am the only one I would not bother to be honest and besides I don't wont any nasty holes in my lovely mint shells. (I could use my personnel though)

I have never raced on a tarmac track before so I am really looking forward to it.

I guess you would be taking the f1 car then biggus ?

Right I am an idiot (thought Sunday was the 6th October) the actual date for event is Sunday the 7th October.

I chatted a little last night with Big Ade who helps run the Wrexham track and found out that the club will charge 5 per person for the whole day.. its not a lot considering what there is available to us...

Excellent purpose built on road track

Toilet facilities

Use of electric supply (handy for charging batteries)

Indoor track (excellent carpet layout)

Plenty of other areas for running other cars (i.e. grass, banking, one of gravel carparks could be set aside for rc use)

also

They have no problems with people wanting to camp over on the Saturday night and the track is FLOODLIT :D.

So I reckon this could be made into a fun part weekend (can get there after midday ish on Saturday I think, but wil sort that closer the date)

Dazza, Im not going to suggest use of transponders I really dont think there is any need, as there arent going to be any organised as such races, although no reason why a few of us cant organise between ourselves what time we could run similar cars or truck. It would be cool to see a few drifters on track at once, or whos up for a truck convoy Erica and myself have 3 to start it off, who can add to it (I think Erica may need a driver for one of hers though cant see her running 2 at once.

They have one request and that is no deliberate use of grass inside the boundary of the tarmac track, obviously there will be times a car might spin off onto grass but they dont want cars cutting corners or just driving for fun of it accross grass as it damages it, it hasnt been laid for rc use. thanks.

Oh and I will try and get the F1 going for then, got a few to sort first though like sidecar, reliant and caterham.

Gravel is probably a bit big for 1/10 rally cars. Is there no other interest in this meet?

Probably get more interest with a new thread with a better title, something like "Tamiyaclub on road meeting 7th October at Wrexham" with what you have wrote above about what's available and some pics of the track, now you have a definite date and price. I can see many people would have only seen the 'anyone interested?' and the saturday date that you first wrote and not bothered checking the thread again.

Looks like a great track and facility,i am sure that if you decide to put a meeting on,people will try thier best to be there.

Make a definate comitment as soon as you can and keep on promoting it as much as you can.I would love to come along as would many others,so i say go for it.

6-7TH October? yes? ONLY A FIVER? Sounds like a bargain to me.

Err i am confused as to which thread we are using now!!?!?!?!

I shall be their as I have got the keys to the club.

I will be opening on Saturday, what time i am not sure depends on when people want to turn up.

You can run anywhere and do anything on our site BUT so long as it does not danage our new tarmac then its all cool!

I am also going to advertise it within our club for the Sunday only even though some of US might be their on the Saturday.

I will also bring the timing equipment with me for anybody who might want a timed run! If you are going to use a personal transponder then it must be compatible with our AMB system and RC-Timing.

Any questions ask PM me or Rich and I will answer ASAP

This is all sounding very good.I will try my very best to be there as i have a few cars i would like to have a go with.

I think the BRCA alows 3 meetings as guests but i am a BRCA member anyway.I think there will be a few other drivers from Yorkshire attending also.

Posted

OK confirmed it with ADE you dont need BRCA membership, what Ade meant was that the club cannot be responsible for any injury or damage caused. THis is a fun meeting, not an organised race meeting in any form, its basically bring whatever cars you wish, stick a battery in and as long as no one on same frequency take it on the track and enjoy yourselves.

PLEASE DONT REPLY IN THIS THREAD AS IT IS THE OLD ONE... USE THIS ONE CHEERS http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...c=38009&hl=
