The date is the 7th October at the Wrexham Car Clubs purpose built track there is a minimal charge of 5 per person for the whole day.. its not a lot considering what there is available to us...

Excellent purpose built on road track

Toilet facilities

Use of electric supply (handy for charging batteries)

Indoor track (excellent carpet layout)

Plenty of other areas for running other cars (i.e. grass, banking, one of gravel carparks could be set aside for rc use)

also

They have no problems with people wanting to camp over on the Saturday night and the track is FLOODLIT So I reckon this could be made into a fun part weekend (can get there after midday ish on Saturday I think, but wil sort that closer the date)

No organised races as such, this is a fun day of bringing whatever you want to run and as long as we are careful and probably run on a peg board system we should have loads of fun, the only thing the club asks is that we dont run the cars over the grass that borders the track layout purposely, obviously cars will occasionally run off accidentally. I also think if enough turn up with similar cars and want to run together we could get together and sort a few times out for that i.e. truck convoy, drifters, minis etc.

I started this new thread so people are aware this meet is definately going ahead. Its not just for North West Nutters everyone is invited, the more the merrier.

I believe there isnt a HUGE amount of space at the moment for tents on site so all those coming and wish to camp could they let me know so I can get an idea, as the track owners have said if there is going to be a fair few with tents they will cut more grass.

It might also be helpful if anyone coming could PM me so I can get an idea of numbers.

We have enough room for about 10 tents but if I cut the grass a bit more then we could fit loads more! Plenty of room for Caravans if people want to bring them!!

UPDATE:

I will be opening on Saturday, what time i am not sure depends on when people want to turn up.

You can run anywhere and do anything on our site BUT so long as it does not danage our new tarmac then its all cool!

I am also going to advertise it within our club for the Sunday only even though some of US might be their on the Saturday.

I will also bring the timing equipment with me for anybody who might want a timed run! If you are going to use a personal transponder then it must be compatible with our AMB system and RC-Timing.

Any questions ask PM me or Rich and I will answer ASAP

Just wanted to add that even though Ade says he will bring transponders this is in no way a race meeting, basically we invite you all down to bring whatever cars you wish, put a battery in and as long as no one is on same frequency put you car on track, gravel, grass etc and enjoy yourself... (if you want to see how your car goes then the option is there for timing it)

I think a 2 day event would be cool, turn up on the Saturday run some cars, drink some beer if you so wish, chat and trade and then same again on the Sunday.

Turnout is looking so bad now (about 20 so far) and a fair few of us are camping. I think we have also sorted a pizza delivery for the Saturday night curtousy of Capt. Calamity.

i was just wondering a couple of stupid questions, i probably already know the answer but heres goes anyway

Is there any restriction on tyres to be used indoors? i;m sure there floor cleaning bill will be hefty?

and is it gonna be a problem running outside and then inside with the same set of tyres? dont worry i got a few sets so i'll b ok but i should have spare couple of sets to lend others too.

just thought i'd confirm so we don't have any issues on the weekend as its gonna be great.

As far as Im aware the limitations to indoor track is no spike tyres as its a carpet surface (expensive type for racing use). I dont think there will be a great deal of indoor driving its only a small track its only there if we have problems outdoors (that dreaded R thing that isnt going to happen). Cant see a problem running outdoors then indoors on same set of tyres as long as they arent dirty (mud, grass etc).

gave in today and went and got a on-roader, never really been bothered, as im a buggy man but did'nt want to miss out on any fun, so got myself a tt-01 subaru 58305 to be exact, will ballrace it and maybe put a slightly faster than stock motor but not sure. still cant wait to test my fav on the track as its not yet been run since i bought it. really looking forward to the meet guys.
