TenzoR 62 Posted September 9, 2007 I just picked up a Dyna Storm recent and all the expose rubber parts are cracking. I've already placed the order for the 10mm rubber o-rings, new set of F/R wheels and Tires. However, my LHS said they can't find the original front tires so Tamiya suggested RC Fnt Spire Spike Tire (http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=53092). Is there any hope of me trying to restore/slow down the degradation of the current front tire?
94eg! 834 Posted September 10, 2007 Dyna-Storm #53083 2WD front rib-spike tires are still available directly from TamiyaUSA.com for $10(us) and can also be found on eBay of course. For some reason they don't show up on TamiyaUSA.com's Dyan-Storm re-re parts list... http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=53083 Other options that fit your front wheels are as follows: - 9805474 2-rib 3-spk (super hornet) $13.50 - 51207 4-rib (sand viper) $9.75 And now for a neat oddity. The "Super fighter G" gets yellow versions of the Dyna-Storm 2.2" star-dish wheels, but uses 2" tires. Basically the 2" tire is stretched onto the 2.2" rim. Tamiya sells these, but only as pre-installed wheel/tire pairs for both front & rear, and they are a bit cheaper than buying wheels & tires separately. - 9400231 3-rib w/ Yel Star-Dish Wheel $13.00 - 9400239 Wide Stud Spike w/ Yel Star-Dish Wheel $13.
danuk 0 Posted September 10, 2007 'Amour All' will help re-moisturise the rubber somewhat. Good for all rubber and plastic parts

I'm sending that link to my LHS to get him to order me some I hope he can return my front spikey tires Thanks a lot. Now I can thrash the worned out tire without worrying about finding the original
Hibernaculum 933 Posted September 11, 2007 'Amour All' will help re-moisturise the rubber somewhat. Good for all rubber and plastic parts No, as has been posted here before, don't use Armour All. As mentioned in a topic I started a few days ago, there have been lots of discussions in the past about why Armour All is no good for Tamiya rubber. Pure Silcone Oil or Glycerine are the best options. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5914 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11922 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27045 cheers, H.
