Well I'm moving from East Anglia down to Brighton at the end of the week so I wondered if any other members are in the area. It's doubtful I'll be able to meet for a bash for a little while due to the work needed in the flat but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask!

Cheers for the replies, I think the 30th will be a bit soon for me although I will certanly be up for a meet when things have settled down. How far is your bash spot from the racecourse in Brighton Grunt?

I live just outside Brighton in sunny Shoreham - there is a rc on road track and oval next to the bmx track (great for off roaders) They now leave the gates open, so anyone can go and use them anytime, It's great fun. :lol:

I would be willing to meet up but, as my wife is just about to pop with our first child - I see myself been a little busy in the near future :lol: . But hopefully will still get time to get down the tracks, maybe see you all there? :unsure:

That sounds like a great venue, will certainly have to give that a look! Hope all goes well with the baby :unsure:

I'd be up for checking that out too...

Mr P - it's a couple of miles from the racecourse. There is also a BMX (International championships held there a few years ago) right next to the race course, although I've never run cars up there...

BMX track next to the race course eh?? Well that's good to know as I live 300 yards down the hill!! Sounds like the E-Maxx will be brought down early.....

P.S. Feel free to add me on MSN Messenger (mr_pushrod@hotmail.com)

Where from? From the race course main entrance, continue along the Warren road road east, towards Woodingdean, but turn right at the traffic lights before you get to the start of the course into Wilson avenue. It's a couple of hundred yards on the left. Depending on how recently the local gypos have got in, you might be able to park in the entrance. Probably worth a look round before you get anything out of your car...

Heres a link to google maps. Race course stand is on the left, track on the right...

The other place you might want to check out, is the old all weather pitch in the middle of this map:

I expect you'll get the place to yourself, and you can park safely, nearby, at the top of Ladies Mile road...

Cheers! I'm only a few hundred yards from the main entrance so I should be able to get to it no probs, just got cure the intermittent fault that's plaguing my Skoda first!

Still haven't got round to looking at the BMX track, still far too busy with the flat unfortunately. If anyone else wants to organize a meet then they'd be more than welcome.

As the weather has been so good of late, I figured now was as good a time as any to organise a bash. Stanmer Park (just off Lewes Road) seems like the ideal destination to me with loads of room and parking where we'll be running. The terrain is mostly short grass but there is some large mounds of dirt and forest to explore. I'm definately on for Sunday 25th of May (bank holiday weekend) which should give you all plenty of time to get ready although I am wondering if anyone fancies a bash either this weekend or next weekend?

There is a good off road area at the top of the hill behind the manor house - I assume you're thinking of running somewhere around there?

I might be able to make it - I need to find out what the missus has planned...

It's going to be pretty packed on a bank holiday weekend though - especially if the weather is nice...

Don't think I found that, so far I've only been on the main fields. Stanmer seemed fairly quiet last bank holiday so I should hope they'll be plenty of room for us on the 25th. For those that want to go either on the 25th or in the next couple of weeks as a warm up, here's some additional details;
