Recommended Posts

I'll be putting that on this nice powdercoated chassis

Oooh, that's a very sexy piece of hardware :P

I know a decent powder coat company near me, I may just pilfer that idea

So far I've spotted a few differences and as pointed out by fellow members...

1. No interior

2. Two side mirrors

3. Hole on the roll-bar lights

4. Has windshield wipers

5. Bed is flat? (The Mounty's has a large hole and recessed area) Not sure about this.

6. Possibly has provisions for the tail lights too?

So looks like the event limited body set is identical to the original Mounty but not to this new one for the high-lift?

Heres what i'm thinking:

Tamiya have had to modify the mountaineer shell mold tools to make it fit the highlift. But before they did, they decided to give the original body a good send off, by running the molds to make a batch of their last ever "true" mountaineer bodies. maybe? :P

it's just brass tube over the stock rod for some ground strike protection since I don't like the big ugly skid.

Hi there Shodog:

This might be a bit OT but is that a "proposed" Tamtech Datsun 280ZX RM Mk. 02 I spy there next to the up-coming Hilux High-Lift (HHL) as well as on the pic/poster behind it?

Now that would also be good news.

Best regards,

dabigbozz

I'm seeing 4spoke m-chassis wheels there.....maybe a new M-chassis release?

Hi guys:

Maybe this guy is on to something. Seems like he has just recently decided to mount a Hilux body on a high-Lift chassis.

Here is the link:

Great timing wouldn't you say :)

Well at least it could give us an idea how the new Hilux High-Lift (HHL) will look like.

Best regards,

dabigbozz

Thanks for the info
