Looks like a boomerang chassis but the body doesnt seem quite right. Maybe a body variation on that chassis?

mosiac,

markellie is pretty much correct, it is indeed a Boomerang, with a Winger body. From memory, the Winger was an optional body for a couple of chassis, and is to this day pretty rare. Certainly a great pickup for only $2!!!!!!

Cheers for that, I figured it was boomerang chassis but couldn't work out what body was and the fit of body is too good to be a home made conversion so it had me stumped.

Update.

Front diff housing is split, and empty, all gears missing, rear diff housing and rear bathtub modified to repair at some stage, no prop shaft, both front drive shafts gone, right front lower arm broken, front bumper broken, and whole thing showing signs of sitting in this sort of state for years. Dust an dirt caked on everything!

So out of curiosity what is this shell worth as I feel the car does not warrant anything but being turned into a donor and I havn't got a suitable chassis to put it on.

Condition of shell is no splits some minor scratches and slight curling on edges of stickers.

Bear in mind I am in New Zealand so shipping will need be a factorered in.

Put the shell on Ebay and keep the chassis for parts. or try to sell it here on the forums. It is hard to say what exactly what the body shell is worthbut you will get your two dollars back for shure. Shipping for justthe body from NZ to just about anywhere would be pretty cheap even with some sort of express service.I wouldnt even bother cleaning it up as you might make it worse. The shell is pretty cool and rare. And there are alot of people that would spend the time and take care to not mess up the body.

Or if you are really interesed in keeping the body buy another basket case boomerang and make a nice car out of the two. Some of the parts are pretty cheap such as the tires and wheels as the boomerang shares some parts with the Hot Shot and it has been re released so you can look to those parts also.

Just a few ideas

I own a NIB Winger body and have instruction.

You mounted the rear wing reversed.

Keep the body, it's pretty rare. Buy spared from hot shot rerelease. Will not be difficoult restore this car.

I agree. fix up the chassis to make a solid runner, and hang on to the body. It shouldn't be that hard to restore, and a complete strip down and cleaning will really give you a sense of accomplishment as you look at the before and after pictures (that's the way I feel about my 1985 Hotshot; no rere here). I wish I could find cars like that for so cheap!

Update.

Condition of car and chassis is shocking, really only screws and other metal parts worth keeping, all plastic parts are badly worn and scratched, chassis has snapped in half at some stage, there are 7 homemade metal brackets holding car together, car has had about 10-15 years of abuse and I suspect body was put on it to sell only. However I am now hunting for a suitable chassis to use for body as it is too good to waste and has grown on me in the last few days, thought it was ugly to start off with but now like the lines of it, on another note. How hard is it to peel off decals and then put them back on? Decals on rear wing are on wrong sides and I would like to "fix" them up, are they likely to tear, could I get them off and then apply a film to them to hold them on if the adhesive is no good? All advice gratefully recieved.

Cheers
