Got a text from my dad about it this morning. We are both well into rallying, and he was most certainly our favourite in his day. Balls-out driving and no fear. Very very sad.

heard about this truely sad day this morning on the news! i was shocked! such a legend in the motorsport world and a great driver, surely he is the senna of the rally world! a true great driver and all round sportsman.

he will be missed!!

I was lucky to meet Colin on more than one occasion (I didn't know him, just met him and had a chat over a drink). My dad raced against him when he guested in the TVRs. Dad also shared a car with Colin's dad Jimmy for a season back in 91/92, a great guy also. Very sad that Colin's been lost ands also his son and the others on board the Squirrel. Hopefully they will figure out what went wrong. He was a very competent pilot.
