Like the title says, am looking for inspiration for colours on my hi-lift.

Looking for real reference pictures of decent looking rigs racers crawlers ( anything) i've drawn a blank on the net and need some help.

Post up some pics for me or any colour sudgestions away from the norm

It's definately not going to be blue and silver boring (no offense to all those blue and silver owners it's just not me)

Regards

Well, although mine is blue & silver it's a bit different in design. How about something similar in perhaps black/silver, black/red (like the original blackfoot design) ? Or you could be bold go for yellow  .

A GORGEOUS set up is the 2003 F150 (real) Harley truck. It's silver on bottom and black on top, which matched the 100th Anniversary bikes. It's how I plan on painting mine.

yes that is a nice looking truck

What about a nice red FIRE TRUCK or RESCUE truck look with all the accessories?

Would be fun to build and paint!

Or old style uncle sam army?

Or - difficult - really old an rusty, and mis matched panels. There is a bruiser on here like that and it looks super.

PS. Thanks again for the HB body. Looks cool!

Not to mention that banged up Landrover Defender that is both rusty and dented!

It is quite interesting that most of us build models of cars/trucks that are made for the rough stuff but only a handful actually make them look used. Don't ge me wrong, a nice and all shiny car is great but so is an abused car too. In addition to looking great it has character.

Go for any colour you like, why not a simple, red one that makes it pop and then add some rust? Less really can be more. :D

I do like the rustic beaten up look

This toyota is off another well known crawler site

Mines now in primer, four channel has arrived and some 2.2's are on the way. Scratch built an interior going to lift it and see what happens

No showroom update yet it's under my hat ;-)

Thanks for the ideas more if you like i want to get this right,

Any pics of that bruiser or a showroom link?

Just an idea, but what about a "work truck" look? There are zillions of F250/F350s around here being used as contractor's trucks, with toolboxes and ladder racks in the beds. Most of them are white, but you see a few other colors too. They're not really rusty or banged up, but just dirty and well-used looking. I'm working on a plumber's van body for my re-Lunchbox in that style. Just be sure to paint the grille and bumper black, since they don't put chrome on the commercial-grade trucks.
