are you talking about the sand blaster 915's found on the rough rider? If so you will need a set of the rough rider wheels as they are 1.7" compared to the 1.5" normally found on the grasshopper

Rears are easy as they are rereleased with the Brat. If you don't want to fit Brat rear wheels then your options are either ebay for rough Rider wheels or rad22rads alloy wheels.

Fronts haven't been rereleased so you'll have to find them on ebay or in the traderooms, expect to pay a lot for them in good condition.

Sandblaster 915 tyres will fit perfecty onto Grasshopper/Hornet rear wheels... :D

20+ years ago I used to race my Hornet with an RS200 bodyshell and with it the 'proper' buggy wheels and tyres looked daft...

I got myself a new set of Grasshopper front and rear wheels - and four Subaru Brat tyres - and assembled the new front inner rims ( with bearings ) into the new rear outer rims.

I put one set of 915 tyres onto my existing Hornet rear wheels - and another pair of 915 tyres onto the 'modified' new wheels.

The tyres could then be made to fit and can be used on a Grasshopper - or a Hornet... ;)

The only thing is that the front tyres were pulled tight on their rims to fit the smaller width of the front wheel centres - but it did work.

I didn't care - as the tyres looked better with the 'scale' body... ;)

I still like messing about and assembling together things that should not be... <_<

My old Hornet currently has Blitzer Beetle front axles fitted into to the Hornet front uprights, together with a front bumper from a Monster Beetle.

It runs on a set of Midnight Pumpkin wheels and tyres !

Sorry, that's incorrect. the sandblaster ties are 1.7 size while the grasshopper wheel is 1.5. the bead of the rim won't cinch down right.

OK, OK... :P

It's over twenty years ago - could the tyres I got have been those for a Rough Rider ?

Whatever they were, it took some playing to get the tyre rims seated on the wheels for the front - but I did - and they worked.

OK.

I am sure that I used four Sandblaster 915 tyres ( I recall painting the lettering with white enamel B) ) - and I KNOW that I managed to fit them to the front wheels of a Hornet using front centres fitted with expensive ballraces - and that the tyres were gripped whilst also being pulled in too tight due to the thinner front wheels.

I must have used Brat rear wheels on the rear of the Hornet... :)

As I said - it is over 20 years ago - and my memory is cloudy.

I blame my medication... :P
