Hi Guys,

I made it to Switzerland. Anyone else here and into their Tamiyas...? I'm half way between Geneva and Lausanne.

Cheers,

Roop

Nice place is Switzerland, bit on the expensive side though, can I ask what made you go there??

Oh yeah IF you ever fancy flying over to Cranwell and picking me up I'd be up for a bit of A bash!! :)

Hi mate,

Switzerland's great. Really enjoying it. It's only expensive if you are a visitor. Earning in Swiss Francs means it's same as UK. That said some things are a lot cheaper than the UK. Petrol is cheaper and also odd things, like a 500ml bottle of Coke is about 40p here instead of 75p-95p at home. Came here because the quality of life is better. I end up with the same amount of money in my pocket as I would at home but live in a nice new apartment looking over the vineyards and lake Geneva and into the Alps - you don't get that in Manchester...!

Sorry mate, sold the plane so I can't fly anywhere now...!!!

Cheers,

Roop

Cool, given the choice of Manc-land and Switzerland I'd be flying away as well

I went there a few years ago, we went to Basle and Lucerne

It's a very nice clean place and the people seem friendly and VERY patriotic

Seen anything of the Navy yet?

It's a good place for sure. Have to see what it's like long term. Should be OK though. Flights cheap to the UK at least. There's a geet big lake here so I wonder if they have a fake navy hehe

Seriously there is a Swiss navy, it's actually part of the army

They patrol lakes Geneva and Leman as these form part of their national frontier

Only to preserve their neutrality though

Can't say I have got any pics mate, not dug it out yet. Seen the local 1/8 off road which is basic but quite cool (a bit like Kidderminster but bigger and all dirt). Someone showed me a link to an awesome on-road facility abslutely world class but darned if I can find the link. Will send it when I get chance.

Cheers,

Roop

Aw c'mon Roop - www.crfpower.com ;)

first round of the SITCC (Swiss Indoor Touring Car Championship) happening this saturday (13th). I can't provide you with a car in the end as I have to fully coach a newbie for his first race ever - and that means a lot of work, but that would still be awesome if you could stop by and say hi, and maybe it'll really make you want to start racing seriously! DTM EP with rubbers on carpet is an absolute blast, very demanding but it gives you a lot back too!

We might be able to meet this sunday in the end - what's your weekend looking like?

Later

Forgot about that Paul...!

Was it you that sent me pics of the outdoor circuit...? I think it was near Geneva perhaps...? Looked kinda nice.

I have some pics of the off-road at Gland. Will post them when I get 5 minutes.

This Sunday good with me. I will drop you an email.
