Hi all,

I have recently puchased two Hummers. One is a Hummer body on a TA-01 Escort chassis. It has the red gear-boxes, etc. with the rear lower arms turned around to give the correct wheel base. The second is a genuine Hummer.

Now here's my question.....

When i push down on the front suspension of both vehicles, the front wheels of the 'old' TA-01 escort chassis remain vertical hwever, when i push down on the front of the Hummer chassis the front wheels move outwards at the front! (toe out). Is this normal with the Hummer or do i have a suspension set up problem?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Many Thanks.

The Hummer suspension behavior you describe sounds like the suspension on my stock Hummer. I think the Hummer suspension arms / setup is different to the stock TA-01 chassis from memory though? No doubt someone more knowledgable in these matters will be along shortly to confirm / deny that ;-).

Not that you are asking, but if you want one piece of advice with regards to the Hummer that will save you a lot of frustration then this is it: Remove the front clip on body mount and drill the shell to take the TA-02 front body posts (a bolt on swap). If you trim the posts so they only just protrude above the bonnet and paint the top of them to match the body you won't hardly notice. Plus you will saves hours of frustration having to run after the **** thing and pop the front body mount on after every small bump ;-)
