It really is cheap that is why I'm bummed that it is only US.....

I moved from the UK to the US in Jan for 3 years, and whilst new things are mostly cheaper here, you do tend to find that Tamiya cars are not as widely available in local shops. I don't know if they were never as popular here as back home or in Japan, but even searches on ebay produce far fewer hits for 2nd hand Tamiya cars, thus the prices are higher generally for Bomerangs and similar cars. I still buy a lot of older cars and bits off the UK site and get them shipped to family in the UK, for collection when I come back periodically!

But, back to your point, yep it's cheap as chips! I ordered one yesterday, but just as a warning if people don't already know, it doesn't come with a motor and you need a special Tamiya battery pack since a normal Sub-C 6-cell allegedly won't fit.

Once I get mine, I'll weigh it to see how much shipping would cost to the UK, and then if it's not the same price again as the truck I might see my way to sending a few back to Blighty for you guys.

I guess you have to factor in the evil money grabbers fine upstanding crown servants at HM Customs and Excise too, they might want a cut. Anyhoo, it will hopefully arrive soon and I'll let you know the shipping costs. I'm moving house in a few days (our landlord has not paid the mortgage so we are being evicted :( ) so it may be a week or so before I get a chance. Feel free to PM and remind me if I haven't done anything about it in 10 days time or so!
