Actually, i believe the model name is Cutlass. :D 442 is more of a "type" name i believe. So Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 would be my guess

Does anyone know what 442 stands for?

442 stands for four speed (post 65, 400ci), 4 Barrel Carburettor and Dual Exhaust

Ahh the good old days!

Nowadays it would stand for...

4 airbags, 4 seatbelts, 2 catalytic convertors or something equally as safety/green related...!

All right, see if you can spot this "diamond in the rough," one of my favorite muscle cars:

I won't be too picky about year, because this style was made for more than one year, but make and model, please.

Hmm, it could look a bit like an early Plymouth Barracuda, but even more like a (perhaps)69 Dodge Charger.., You know, the General Lee-type, although it looks kinda short for that. :S

LOL

Now = $4000.00 gas guzzler tax; 4 cupholders (remember the Americans invented it for cars; and 2 i-pod plugs (will I try...)

Well, actually...

The car in the photo is even rarer than that. It's a 1969 Hurst/Olds.

The paint job and the vanity license plate on the front give it away. (Sorry to be pedantic, but I'm a huge muscle-car nut.)

Too Easy for a US Muscle Car Fan :)

Correct. This was tricky considering the car was built by Hurst using the 442 as a base. Reason being is the Muscle Car Wars heated up and General Motors would not let a BIG BLOCK (400+cu.in.) be installed by the factory in an intermediate size car until 1970. So Hurst took about 2000 442's, dropped in a 455 cubed big-Carb big-Block motor along with the wild paint job and Special Drag-Style Shifter. Hurst was one of the first car tuners in the US along with Yenko and Shelby..

You'll like this one when i post up the full picture

Ok, I know little about American classic cars, but taking a guess from seeing the vents at the edge of the guards its a Ford F100 thats had its roof line modified. The protruding seams have been removed.
