I got into rcs about a year ago, when I bought my friend's old grasshopper II for 50$ with radio. It still had old acoms radio gear, MSC and reciever. After slapping in a 19turn, it got ruined pretty quickly. After leaving it on the shelf to play with my Dark Impact, I decided I would get around to restoring it. I already bought new reciever, a tamiya esc, a sand scorcher replica body and a new chassis. However, I bought the re-release grasshopper chassis, so I couldn't use it with the grasshopper II parts. I just now ordered parts C which has the battery holder and stabilizer bars and I bought parts B which had the missing parts to mount the gearbox onto the chassis, aswell as a whole new gearbox assembly. (Uneeded, but will make the car look newer =)

Now, my dad has shown some interest in the hobby, so I want to make this at least usable or driveably offroad in the gravel. I added ballbearings already for performance, and I heard the grasshopper II front arms will help stabilize it. Anything else I can do to help it?

Also, I have no clue how to mount the Sand Scorcher replica body on, so im gonna need help on that one.

Thanks!

The GH 2 front arms will help the front end. Using Hornet oil shocks on the rear will improve things a bit as well, but you will need the D4 and D5 parts to mount them properly. Have a look at the Hornet manual.

You will have to make tall posts to mount the Beetle body. I have used the stiff tubes used in garden home-irrigation systems (I think they call them "risers") for this sort of thing. Check out your local garden centre. The front post should be easy, but not sure about the rears - I'll have to get a GH chassis out and have a look.
