Hi does anyone know of any clubs in east or south east london?

Thanks

Not sure if its still there anymore, but I think there used to be one based in Crystal Palace (SE London). Had a decent outdoor track that was capable of holding races for the huge 1/5 scale petrol saloon cars if memory serves.... This was a few years back and last time I looked the website hadn't been updated for a while.

I think maybe another TC member "Brat Attacks" has been there and had some pics in his showroom of one of his cars taken there? May be wrong though.

I'd be interested in hearing of any clubs, preferably with outdoor tracks in mor around the same area. Can't help feeling the price of land probably means any clubs will be using indoor carpet tracks though - outdoor circuits would be expensive in London.

Let me know if you find anything.

Thanks for that link - the site makes for interesting reading, and the track looks excellent for an on road track.

Read through the forums before you part with any cash though.... to my mind it looks like there is a lot of infighting and one or two people with a bit of a "god" complex in the way the place is run. All imho of course, but given the amount of money they are asking for a years membership (not far off 100 including BRCA membership), I'd want to be crystal clear exactly what that gave me in terms of access to the track and use of the facilities. From some of the posts it sounds like access to the track may actually only be allowed at weekends?

I'm not particularly into race meetings and suspect as a 1/10 Tamiya owner I would be in the minority there, most of the guys seem to run the large 1/5 or 1/8 petrol / nitro cars. Not sure I would fancy running some of my collection around the track with 1/5 tourers hammering up and down there.

Anyway, I guess the best way to suss it out is to head down there and try and have a chat with people and get a proper feel for how things are setup. I'm sure you can tell a lot about the type of club it is and the way its run just by talking to some of the people using it.

Let me know if you head down there and what you think of it as I'd be interested in joining a club, but only a fairly laid back friendly one :P

Hi, just found a leaflet for an offroad race track, www.dartfordracetrack.com has a small caption on it

"drt caters for all buggy, truggy and monster truck drivers with the addition of an organized race calendar to test your mettle! on site facilities including toilets, catering and ample free parking provided."
