R/C real-life scale JET planes!

Can you imagine Tamiya, with their ability to produce super realistic models, producing a Concorde or Airbus like these two with working miniature gas turbine jet engines?

I think I'd beg, steal and borrow to own that Concorde. The noise as it flys by just blows me away!

Please Mr Tamiya...get into R/C jet planes. I will pay whatever you ask!

We are talking serious money with RC jets. Like helicopters better start off simple with lots of practice on the simulator else one will be looking at crash art.

I don't think Tamiya will get into jets or even the regular prop planes and helicopters like those offered by Kyosho or even submarine which all can get very complex and require lots of cash.

These are quite special toys (a limited niche market) and Tamiya will have to spend a lot to get into the market and is not a huge market since forking out several grand is no chump change for a lot of us.

Just watching these toys in action is good enough for me.

Out of interest, how much do we reckon that Concorde would cost to buy?

This is what I want...

Me-262

Apparently, the guy who built it got in a fair bit of trouble... For having period correct swastikas on the tail! It's illegal to display swastikas in Germany. He was sentenced to pay a fine, or spend some time in prison.

Actually I just did a bit of searching...apparantly the Airbus is worth 25,000!!!! Slightly out of my price range.

We are not talking about Yen, US$, Euro but the Pound! I guess I can affort the landing gear and the video should the owner decided to put it in DVD.

Is like most of us drives a regular car = Tamiya's while few of us drives a Porsche or Ferraris = jets.

Reason for a higher education and work your butt off now have meanings

Well the kit of parts for the body starts at 4000.

add another $5000-10000 for the engines.

Still want one?

Keep that in mind when you see the clip of the model B-52h crashing..

then remember..

It had 8 engines,

and a Team of 3 guys flying it...

That's ALOT of money down the drain...

I was there when that B-52 crashed, it was at the Nationals about 3 years ago

Great to see it take off everyone there was going, oooh wow, awesome etc and then it banks

too much and rolls in and down then hits the ground, we were all stood there in silence

I went onto the pages that the airbus and concorde videos were listed and there is a bunch more pics and stuff. They also have a bit on that B-52. According to what I read the B-52 crashed because the pilot throttled back the engines too fast and too early which caused it to bank and not able to recover as the turbines need time too spool. I feel bad for that guy. They said these big models like that cost as much as some real planes. The engines on the B-52 were said to cost $1500 each.
