Probably not too far removed from what we see,

So it'd show up as a Model shaped Discoloration of the surrounding area.

A few years back, I bought a couple Carson body shells while I was on a trip to Germany. I didn't want to pay to ship them home, so I put them in my suitcase and packed them with dirty clothes. When I got back to the US, I got pulled out for a search (long story, but they were looking for someone with the same name as me), and they went through all my bags. They asked about the "oddly-shaped gaps" in my dirty clothes, and when they opened the suitcase and saw the shells, they were even more confused. So I explained what they were, and why they were transparent, and they decided I wasn't dangerous, just weird.
