Personally i wouldnt spend over about 150 on one, but then i don't really see the attraction.

Plus i've noticed alot of NIP hilux bodyshells cos of the impending re-re...

300-350 in the past has been the going rate for one on ebay. I'm not surprised it didn't sell at 350 recently though. I think people are being very cautious since the re-re's are far from over and the MB has to be a high contender for one of the next ones.

My fingers are certainly crossed, its one I've always wanted.

Re-release: Still, a re-release is not the original old one.

Sounds like a bit much then. 400 is top money. The box and contents would need to be 100% perfect.

True, a re release is not an original car. But the re releases have hit the value of some originals very badly. The lunchbox for example used to command upwards of 200 in shelf queen form. Now, you'd struggle to get 100. NIB is a similar story!

I am looking for a NIB with a red shell for about three years, just on the bay. I am not a collector, but I want this car, cause I had one in my childhood.

Is the re release just a rumor that will stay a rumor?

PS: Sorry, I am not a native speaker ...

The re-re MB isn't even a rumor its just pure speculation. However I'm sure a few people here including myself would say the MB has to be the odds on favorite to be next. There's lots of bits of it already in production for the Frog, Its one of the more iconic and sought after 80's plastic kits and the Hotshot proved that Tamiya will quite happily dig out those old molds if they think something will sell. For that last reason alone I wouldn't be at all surprised if most if not all of the popular 80's kits aren't re-released over the next few years.

So all in all unless you really can't wait any longer and you've got 300 odd quid gathering dust I wouldn't rush out and buy a MB right now.
