What Is The Best Thing You Have Found Throw Out Or Got For Free

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what sort of things you guys have found thrown out or have been given for free? For me the best things were the schumacher wild cat, the fender bass guitar(how could somone put that in a skip?) a nice guitar amp, a load of vintage ruper bear annuals lying in a box by the side of a road, some other books from 1860 to 1930, nice post office signs, a hpi sprint in bits and a jamara petrol buggy in bits, a brand new kenwood car cd changer(any one interested) a game cube, an old ps2 and an old acoustic guitar oh and a nice metal flight box.

What have you found?

Would most likely be two tamiya bodies that I got from the US for the shipping only.

One a brand new carbon pattern hks altezza built and decalled pretty darn good.

And the other a used pajero sport body shell,

$20 dollars each shipped frm the US can't be bad.

cheers Ryck

WOW i never thought a grasshopper was worth 60pounds never mind 150, was this recent? if so then the car must have been like new.

Best thing I got was about three large size boxes of rc parts from a a shop I used to deal with. They were gonna throw the stuff away. there was some really good stuff in them.

I too got some boxes of bits from a model shop that was closing, it was part of a computer shop and I was friendly with the owners and their Son.

In those boxes was a built Ta01 Michelin Pilot Escort Cosworth with radio gear and hardly run, there was also a more or less complete FF01 Ford Mondeo (just needed a few chassis bits). A Hummer box full of Hummer body and chassis sprues but absolutly no transmission. And a bunch of Hopup`s and spare parts.

I built the FF01, still got it only used it once, it needs rebuilding. The Mondeo shell is uncut and unpainted, I ran it with the Escort shell (could it be classed as Group N :P ).

Ever since seeing the model of the Hummer I had wanted one (its an off road thing). And a few years ago, I was perrusing a Tamiya dogalogue and noticed how similiar the Escort and Hummer Chassis`s where, then I realised that they where the same Transmission. So the Escort was pulled apart and my Hummer was built. I still have all the bits n pieces for the Escort, and if I fall on a cheap Ta01, it will get rebuilt.

It was mostly older CRP stuff, Kyosho Optima/Ultima part and a boat load of Hot Trick stuff.

Hi no mate i am not a burgular, i would say that i am just very lucky but most of the rc related stuff was given to me by my cousins (apart from the schumacher that was a rubbish tip find) in bits so i had to spend abit doing them up but it was worth it, if i find anymore stuff i will update this post.

I was given a Hornet, with radio gear. This was before the re-issue, so was really nice at the time. The chassis was a bit of a wreck, and the radio gear was a bit beat up, but it came with a brand new never painted body shell, and a good condition Kyosho LeMans 480s motor. Restored it, it's sitting on my shelf.
