Upgrade Advise For Thundershot Re-re

just won off ebay, what would be a good turn motor to make it quick, not daft speed but a good balance between run time and fun time. gearing wise what would people recommend, any other mods i should think about. first thing will be a trip down and ballrace.

Either of Tamiya's own RZ or BZ motors will make it super quick but not ridiculously so. They don't shorten battery life to dramatically either. If you get one off the Hong Kong Ebay dealers they're pretty cheap too.

no worries with the transmission on those cars. i've got a very old one and chucked a 17 turn motor into it. It runs perfectly even on plastic bearings. Great little buggy, very under rated on this site - but i find mine great fun!

I was thinking of going for something around a 23t to start with, although i have a 15t and a 13t lying about, what about pinion gears, i think mine has the stock 15t pinion would this suite the 23t motor and what if i went to a 15t what pinion would i better fitting, luckily for me the car is ballraced and came with box and manual which i always look for when buying of ebay.

i think i've got the stock pinion in mine and even with an old worn out 17 turn motor it flies...

I'd go with the 15 turn and a 13 tooth pinion first, then try the 13 turn motor. I dont think you can go to a lower pinion with the stock motor plate.
