The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

I thought they are to long in the wheel base (the Escorts that is)

The escort fits under the TT01 .

You do know the escorts are MK1 & MK2 escorts , Not the cosworth escort . :)

Today I got 10.5m of stainless steel 3mm tube in 260mm lengths. Also got a bipe bender for the tube. The tubing is to make the hoops for the canvas on my ta01 land rover.

Packing the tube with fine grained sand will help to stop the tube crushing as you bend it

Yer I tried that before. It works ish, but you can not get two angles the same and you can not get the bend to start exactly where you want it.

Pack the sand as tight as possible.

What bender are you using?

When bending you need to leave 'green' on the ends, a bit extra material that can be trimmed off afterwards to get the precise length.

You also need to do some calculations and mark out the centre of the bends, allow for the radius of the die etc.

Bit hard to explain here. ;)

Google might be your friend.

I think with a little practice I will get there. This is bender http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/QUALITY-MINI-BRAKE-P...=item415502804a
