I've been looking for one of these for quite some time. It arrived "downunder" from Cresskill, New Jersey USA to about 2 weeks ago but just got the pics off my camera. Welcome home little fella.

G'day Tamiya clubers, I should introduce myself. I'm David from Sydney Australia.

I was 9 turning 10 when the R/C craze hit Australia in 1982. A hobby shop in Sydney called Hobby Co had me checking out cars on display, watching the Tamiya videos and scoping out parents buying kits for their kids. I dreamed of my turn every Saturday I could get to Hobby Co.

A Grasshopper was my first car followed by a Wild One.

In 2005, kinda new to ebay I noticed the Re release Frog and that inspired me to get into modern R/C racing and vintage collecting for light running.

I like a little modern racing and restoring/repairing/rebuilding and running some if my vintage collection,

Great to be on Tamiyaclub.com

My sons future racer DT-02 Desert Gator (bottom box) arrived from Japan today. Look for a new build thread soon. I also got repair parts for my Frog and a set of rims which won't actually work on the DT-02 or the Frog. :(

More like what the postman didn't bring me :(

I'm trying to figure out what the item is though. I'm waiting on a couple of things.

One item being some stuff from Czech Republic...

Here's the conundrum I want TC to help me solve!

There is a little grey slip with a tracking reference starting "RR48" ending "KR"

I can't for thr life of me track down what this abbreviation is for. Typically these things end "GB" for domestic parcels, but I'm clueless as to what this is.

They (Royal Fail) want £14 odd but the postman hasn't ticked the box which specifies why they want this (ie underpaid, import duty, handling fee etc).

Any help? I can't get there until tomorrow Pm and the items I've ordered are all low value - so I'm reluctant to pay out for something twice! If it was bought via ebay I have comeback, if not it's back to the drawing board...

This arrived a couple of days ago. The shell has seen better days but the chassis seems pretty good.

I've been thinking that we should have a totally separate thread for Tamiya only items that are really good value?

Kits or parts this would be a really good way of sharing the love!

Not a general thread for hobby related items though as I know we have one of these anyway.

That looks great! Runner or shelfer?

It will be a shelfer, once I find some decals for it.

Sad to say I traded one of those escorts for a bass guitar back in 2000. Never learnt to play the bass and ended up selling it. No regrets. Bass paid for a WW last year. Lol goes around comes around

Love these...what are you upgrading? I'm guessing oil shocks, brushless (they go lovely with brushless), maybe a mod of the steering?

yeah, oil shocks, brushless outrunner, better steering, battery relocation... too many ideas, although the car is for a 8 year old... But I can't resist ;)

Outrunner? An interesting choice for a car. Looking forward to seeing how it goes together.

Today I received a new TA-02/FF/01 chassis tub courtesy of vintage-tamiyaparts.

20150411_130644_zpsfobnozy8.jpg

Sadly it isn't quite pristine - there are some minor abrasions to the upper attachments for the front gearbox assembly, that appear to have occurred prior to postage since the inner plastic bag was damaged but the outer bubble wrap jiffy bag wasn't.

However the abrasions aren't structural and are hidden when the gearbox is attached, so I am not too bothered. It is just unusual - every other part I have received from them in the past has been perfect.
