The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Bodies and bits from Tamico, Cockpit sets from Banzai, Expec radio from Amazon (Japanese seller), Alfa 155 body from eBay Japan, styrene rods from Dorspring on eBay, the missing parts for my TB.Evo 6 from trx124, thanks Takis!

tamico-apr-16.jpg

More bodies and misc bits from Seidel (the unbagged one is the VW Amarok). Styrene tubing from Dorspring again.

£140 worth of paint (ouch!) from RossMod for upcoming projects:

paint-apr-16.jpg

A tatty old Focus WRC 03 from eBay...

ebay-focus-03.jpg

... which I only bought for just this one part:

focus-03-wing.jpg

The wing I needed for my new build. I couldn't find one separate anywhere so I figured buying this whole car would either allow me to sell it on sans wing at hopefully not too much less than I paid for it, or by sod's law make a wing on its own appear, in which case I can put it back on and sell it.

I know what you're talking about with the paint ouch! Indeed, I have to do the same order paint in bulk so to speak because no hobby shops anywhere around my area sell tamiya PS/TS paint!

Big thanks to IBIFTKH

Postie brought me this today;

Thank you Rob, I'm made up with it. It looks better than the pics, I'm looking forward to introducing him to his new ride!

This guy might have an issue with it since he's got used to keeping the seat warm...

;)

Cheers

I love F100's. My first RC was a Pumpkin back in 1989 and I've still got it. But when the Lowride Pumpkin came out a few years ago, I managed to resist. All the pics made it look a bit off (the bumper and the Beetle wheels don't help) and I've still never seen one that looks right. But I know there's one in there somewhere, so yesterday I finally splurged. It's the earlier one with the proper ABS shell, so I can customise it. Wheels are still TBD but the stock ones will definitely be heading for the bin.

@Percymon, is that Steve McQueen out front?

IMG_0060_zpsiuug3n38.jpg

My recent EBay win arrived, it has TL01LA rear arms, think it has bearings as well as batteries, charger and radio gear. EBay buyers remorse has switched to new owner joy!

And lubricants have arrived so I can get building tomorrow night...

My trusty Hermes courier Mike delivered my latest Ebay purchase,

a Madcap...

Looks in quite good nick, not sure how old it is, some TLC, and it will be upgraded to 2016 standard, ballraces, ESC, and a 2.4 GHz radio...

just need to figure out how to post images here!

Over the last few days I've been getting these.

B5D8A335-FC7A-4C60-9DF7-DAC93CA9991E.jpg

Need a set of white mirrors, I thought I had bought them with the spoiler but they weren't in the box so trying to find out where they are.

Building myself all 4 cossie escorts, I know the WRC car didn't have the whale tail but I like that better.

Will have to start building and painting them soon.

Paul.

Madcap looked like this out of the box....post-26599-0-42548100-1459961042_thumb.j

gave it a quick run up the pavement, it drives ok, now stripping down...its been quite well looked after, and upgraded to an Astute motor plate, and a few ballraces...an modified motor, called a wet 17? and a smaller metal pinion than stock....anything I should be looking out for in terms of common faults?

or should I start a new thread?

@Percymon, is that Steve McQueen out front.

It's one of Toykids creations, it's not the first time the Steve McQueen reference has been called on the forum

It hasn't been re released so it will be 27 years old this year iirc. :)

Received a black edt. Grasshopper today from ModelbauBerlinski in Germany. 46 euro + shipping without esc though, but guess I have plenty of those around. So great price I think. Also got a couple of centerdogbones for my E-maxx project.

Almost makes Tamico's daily deal price of 60euros + shipping look expensive !

Ouch didn't see that. Bought it the day before Tamico launched their week deal. If I woulfd have known I would have bought it there, as shipping from Tamico is 4€ cheaper, so the esc would have been 10€. And if it was at 48,99€ I would have bought one more

The postman brought several decal sheets from within Canada. They still feel sticky, so they must be good!

Technically. Yesterday I received a second porsche 911 gt2 84399 from Tamico. Couldn't resist the price. It was only $10 more than the last one I got. And that was to Florida from Tamico instead of from within the US. Now I'm just not sure what to do with it. Keep for a while NIB or build or sell it on. Probably keep as im about to hit 30 cars any minute now. Blinkin internet gets me in so much trouble.
