The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately it's only the box, but it'll make a nice home for one of my M38's sitting on the shelf

I may not have been able to stay home and play Tamiya today but being at work meant I was here to receive a TL01LA with Spektrum 2.4Ghz radio gear!

Following my recent theme of buying the most atrociously abused hard bodies, I had this beauty arrived today. Looks like they tried using concrete to repair it previously!

Frog re-re decals.  One for a Frog shell (that I don't have), one for DT03 (that I don't have).

I don't think I've seen a barcode paper inside a sticker bag before...  and the bottom is sealed at an angle.

Are these genuine?

I’ve seen slight angles on the bagged parts before, but not the barcode paper inserted yet, would that mean there is no barcode printed on the backside of these then? It has been sometime since I ordered parts or decals from folks other than kit breakers.

I don't think I've seen the barcode on the backside.  I should check when I go home.

Edit: Nope, no barcode on the backside.

Trackstar waterproof ESC/Motor combo.

img34051_3192018101457_1.jpg'

It's sensorless, which I should have checked before buying. But it's for a basher, so not a huge deal. We'll see once it's mounted.

It came with no instructions and there are no markings on the motor wires to indicate the different wires (A, B, C). Do I just plug it together and let the ESC figure out the configuration?

Planning to put this in the King Yellow I'm building with the kid. It now has a Speed Passion Reventon Pro and matching very un-waterproof motor:

img34051_3192018102512_1.jpg

These were put in just because the rating is pretty good to what I want and it was laying around.

I shortened the servo lead for the rear servo and built a short custom Y cable. Will be interesting to see how the FlySky receiver handles these two servos. I'm thinking about adding a direct connection to the ESC/motor cable to pull power directly from the ESC.

It's pretty bad.

But it does feel nicer to hold and use than the Absima I've got.

I promise this will be the last vintage model I buy *crosses fingers*

no idea why the previous owner decided to paint the front wings black, unfortunately it's trashed the original decals & the rest around the shell are all in pretty good shape.

Couple of things I've just noticed - the motor supplied in the kit is a 35T and the rear tyres are a new chunky tread pattern I've not seen on any of the other 1/14 truck kits.

Tipper bed is very impressive - quite heavy 1-piece plastic moulding. Quite a lot in this kit - very impressed.

Just have to talk the wife into letting me get the tipper mechanism now...
