The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

A beaten up but working Nikko Turbo Panther. I have a mint but non-functioning one I want to sell but the electonics are dead. Going to make one decent one to sell on and convert the beat up one to hobby grade.

Must not, repeat must not keep both.....

Must not.

Couple of things I've just noticed - the motor supplied in the kit is a 35T and the rear tyres are a new chunky tread pattern I've not seen on any of the other 1/14 truck kits.

Tipper bed is very impressive - quite heavy 1-piece plastic moulding. Quite a lot in this kit - very impressed.

Just have to talk the wife into letting me get the tipper mechanism now...

Can't have a tipper truck that doesn't tip...

Some missing parts for my Porsche 959 resto arrived

959

Now all that is really missing is the front body mount stay (part 4315004).

That said - could anybody post a photo of one next to a ruler for scale? Then I'll make one myself 😁

I'm normally a fan of box-art finishes but not too sure about the grey cab with the grey tipper.

Tipper part will definitely be grey but the cab will be a different colour - leaning towards green at the moment but open to suggestions.

Recovery truck - hadn't thought of that but I did think about a concrete mixer.

Now, if only Tamiya had done it on an 8x4 chassis !

Blue & red look good together - still not totally decided yet - will have a look through my paint collection over the weekend for inspiration.

LOL... man... I thought of bucktooth Superman.  I cannot un-see it, and it's all your fault, CrashCramer!  Oh, that was funny.

Some of those cheap 1150 bearings someone recommended turned up and they look good.

Managed to track down another set of orange Blitzer wheels because the bearing housing has cracked on one of mine. So i now have two sets of 12mm hex rears with tyres (current set and extras from new set) which obviously has set me off looking for cheap 4wd tamiya buggies i don't need to truckerize.

42281 and 53827 which I finally got around to ordering after forgetting to add them to a bunch of orders.  These are the swaybar set and swaybar stoppers for my TA07.  Thats it for the race cars for a while now, other than consumables like tyres and shock oil etc.

I bough a lot on ebay last week for £35

It had one of those big twin motor Nikko trucks I'm obsessed with, nice to have a spare chassis, the twin motor version with front gearbox is rarer than the RWD version.

Also a Nikko Road Thunder. One of the nicer toy grades from back in the day, Lexan Toyota Tundra shell, digital proportional, metal pinion, spur and diff gears etc. Not sure if I'll keep it stock or mod it.

The smaller Nikko shell loops quite good on the bigger chassis lol:

Chassis size comparison:

Annnd.... a Yokomo MR-4TC chassis. Belt driven touring car with universals and ball diff etc. Never had a belt drive anything before so I'm tempted to keep hold of it.

The Yokomo chassis alone was worth £40 easy and ive seen the old skool No Limit esc sell for £20 so I think it was a good haul!

Custom colour and outlined decals from MCI for Ultra G. All your neon yellow belongs to me! Awesome service again from Nathaneal. Also got some more M3 threaded rod so Ultra G will be back up and running later.

You make a good point...

56545 duly ordered, will have some explaining to do later...

Grabbed a 56523 MFU on Friday from ebay using the 20% off coupon - would have been a crime not to use it. :)

For my G6-01 Build that will be a Russian military truck from the 60s and I'm going to build a Unimog body for it too, because I can, leave me alone, you're not my supervisor. The bearing were £23, which is pretty good, considering the prices I saw in the model shops. Bought from RCBEARINGS

Two deliveries in the last couple of days-

New As-1 servos for the M38 WW from TC member Futureworks and a bag of M38 nuts, screws etc from eBay.

I should just need a handset and receiver now hopefully.

Very happy boy!
