The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

Spektrum Dx5c arrived less than 24 hours from ordering from Modelsport.co.uk after the eBay offer! First impressions are very positive, not used a steerwheel before so going to be bit of a learning curve. It's for the CR-01 to assign the rear steer to switches. Think I'll get a regular 4 channel receiver for that however and set the AVC one up in the M-06 seeing as that needs the stability control...

@Badcrumble I'll keep you posted.

My Buggyra Fat Fox kit arrived from Tony’s Tamiya Parts yesterday :) I’ve been excited about this since they were first announced. I probably won’t be building it anytime soon but at least I’ve got one :)

And where it’s currently living amongst some of my other unbuilt or never to be built kits.

No apologies necessary, I’m sure. These sets are VERY cool. So cool nearly all of us have them. I have two.. one for home and one for the office (bit heavy to lug around).

Non-RCers regard them with wonder. “JIS, you say? What on earth is that?!”

Today's post brought a Tamiya high torque servo saver to fit to the Sand Scorcher belonging to @Grumpy pants. This should be the last piece of the puzzle!

Huh,typical I'm trying to follow a Blackfoot, that thing just looks so cool... even if the tyres look too large on the Box Art I think it looks better..... are they actually that scale to the truck???

My haul for yesterday was a chassis I have wanted for over a year... and a bodyshell I have wanted for 2 years... so to get them both in a box together.... happy days.

The postman didn’t exactly bring this. I had to go and pick it up myself but never mind. I’ve been wanting to re-shell my FF01 Mondeo for ages. It was painted in the wrong shade of blue and had two holes drilled in the boot lid for a spoiler I assume. Anyway, as I’m sure you all know the Mondeo shells are like rocking horse poop so it’s taken me a while to find this one :)

Some arrivals over the past week that I returned to today include two sets of wheels and a Super Stock RZ motor:

5eijo2.jpg

Two overseas motors and an ESC also arrived:

2i7bski.jpg

The silver-rimmed wheels are metal. The two sets of tires are touring-car-size and just a bit above that. I measured the smaller of the two sets at 70 mm diameter; here they are next to the stock 65 mm diameter Lancia 037 wheels and tires:

e8mhr7.jpg

And then I realized:

n158xf.jpg

Seriously considering this setup now:

zkqs78.jpg

The tires are nice and supple, and at this stage quite easy to mount.

And it turns out that the "just a bit above that" is just about perfect for:

143fdhz.jpg

The metal wheels are standard touring car size, so one set of Lancia 037 wheels on their way may end up here. Perhaps the next edition of "the postman brought Grastens" will have the equipment to mount the wheels properly on the chassis!

Just got this yesterday! Built a re-re Lunch Box, TT-02 Subaru Impreza Monte Carlo, and a DT-03 Racing Fighter. A re-re Frog is after this one, and then maybe a re-re Wild One or Fighting Buggy.
