Carbon shock tower idea for the Thunder Dragon and new longer battery hold down for my TRF211 pending its new transmission.

Hi Cy. If you don't mind me asking, how did you pay for the TD shock tower?

Front on 4mm was £13, rear in 3mm £11.50. £4 postage. These aren't completely direct replacement. Thry include a cunning plan I need to try. All will be revealed on my Thunder Dragon thread once I have got them working.

This popped up during a routine eBay search a few weeks ago. It was a reasonable price (even with shipping and import charges) so I chucked in a last minute bid and won it :)

For anyone who isn’t sure what it is, this is a chassis made by HPI for the Tamiya TA02. It allows the battery to mount lengthways for better weight distribution. Not that I’m going to be racing it, but it’s something rare that I fancied :) It May even end up being used as an FF01 if I can bare to strip it.

Wow! I'm an HPI fan since the first RS4 (loved my full modified Pro4) but I never knew that it made aftermarket parts for Tamiya.

Before they made their own cars they made parts for other brands.

Small parts are for the TA-01, bag near the chassis is 3mm, 2mm, 1mm and 0.5mm drill bits. Fastrax intercoolers are a copy of the Tamiya item. I bought four but only two are shown here. The chroming is pretty bad but I always paint them. I need three for an upcoming build and that would be £45 buying the Tamiya accessory set and having all the other bits left over. These were £11 for four.

When I post stickers I just put them in a card envelope with another bit of card. The Celica ones above arrived like this:

That's a plastic folder with card in, in a plastic sleeve, in bubble wrap, in a large plastic bag, in a card bag!

With the kyosho RB7 out now, the RB6 /6.6 parts are getting cheaper.

These RB6.6 (ready set ?) Shocks will go nicely on the Mid (or Ultima 🤔

More assorted kits arrived, but no particular plans for anything right now.

Today I received some more parts to convert my M-06 rally basher into something better suited to track use. A 13.5t Speed Passion motor and Quicrun 10BL60 speed controller arrived along with the necessary connectors to fit the new ESC into my FF-03, freeing up a TBLE-02 for installation in the M-06.

Japanese people with their culture of over-packaging!  I love how they send stuff as if it is the most precious thing in the world.  It makes me feel good when I receive stuff like that.

It's all wrapped up for winter! Out again late spring.

Don't have many photos, and only recent ones I had I lost when my phone refused switch on 🤔

Tease!

I shudder to think how much they cost you going off what I got quoted for two new ones for my ST off Ford.

Can't say I fault you having it tucked away. A rare sight now but never fails to raise a smile when I see one in the wild. Last one I spotted was going the opposite way on the A635 towards Holmfirth. Making progress shall we say!
