The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

These arrived on Wednesday but I've been out of action for a few days so I only opened the box today.IMG_2047.JPG.d48c32e25bd006f111ae35678e91be48.JPG

Good old Tamico and for once DHL. Only took 3.5 days to arrive!!! In the box were these two

We have the Ralliart Lancer body and stickers and The VW Amarok and stickers. Both these have the same wheelbase so will fit on DF01,WT01-N and DT03 so its play time. Not sure whats going where until I cut them out. The Lancer is pre drilled so that may determine what I put it on. Its normally on the DF01 which currently is my German Police Cayenne.

Bullhead arrived packed nicely. The paint on it is great, no body scratches. I opened up both gearboxes, one had bearings and the other did not, but now they both have them. Replaced both pinions with steel pinions. A couple of the tires have flat spots from sitting. Now just waiting for the radio to arrive as the seller forgot to pack it.

This stuff came over the past 2 days...

Basically little parts for the TT02S, the TT02B, various tools and bits, and a shiny steering wheel for my Futaba Tx :D

I'm going to add my grumble, as I've just got a royal mail fee payment slip in the post today.

£14.25 total, £8 of which is the handling fee :(

It does mean though, that this is all that's stopping me from starting my new project!!!!!! :)

Got a vintage Kyosho Optima with a heavy case of rust and oxidation.  Not exactly sure how I'm going to restore it yet, but I have some ideas.

DF03 shocks for my Deep Impact and a one-way diff for the TT02S, but honestly I'm hesitant to install it on what will ultimately be a high speed 'careful' basher. Any thoughts on the matter? Should I just put diff putty up front, AW grease in the rear and call it a day?

a busy week:

I was originally after a Karmann Ghia kit, but I wanted to buy locally. None in stock, (at a reasonable price anyway), so got these two instead. I was just going to get the Benz, but the Holiday Buggy was too good to ignore for the price. I was surprised to learn though its based on an actual car, the Stripper Dune Buggy.

pus a Subaru Forester X body. I had a new one in 2005, and had seen these come up before. Monday was my lucky day to nab one. This will go onto a CC01 chassis I'd picked up second hand over Christmas.

I like that is comes with light buckets. I also picked up a new battery and some paint.

2020_08_03_Recent_Purchases-3.jpeg

plus some paint, the green for the holiday buggy and the red for the forester.

I also managed to pick up a M01 chassis. You can never have enough M chassis :D

2020_08_03_Recent_Purchases-5.jpeg

plus a used Countach LP500S body set with body. The body is on pretty good condition, apart from the bad paint job, but that won't be a problem. It is missing some pieces which I'll probably make or copy from another set I have.

I made a video unboxing what the postman brought me a couple of days ago. There's good stuff in it, including a FF01 Civic, green M01 parts and much more :)  Another box of this size should be arriving in the next two weeks so I'm super excited about that!

Love the green parts, think I have seen those before. That body is pretty coveted too 😍

Me too! I have another set somewhere and a donor M01 with some upgrades that will make a nice future build. In the next box will be another M01 or M02 (can't remember) with even more upgrades. The green parts keep following me haha. I wish Tamiya did a white or clear version too.

A rather shiny TT02 B)IMG_20200805_153000.thumb.jpg.3499ae38c4eb4d8c78ce89d27fe1823b.jpg

IMG_20200805_153031.thumb.jpg.75697623f8141e3a26eabc9ef9612de1.jpg

As you can see, lots of options, I don't know much about TT02's, this is my first so I don't know what works and what doesn't lol

Came with the Tamiya Brushless motor/esc,  subaru brz body with light kit and a second standard chassis about 80% complete and lots of spares :)

Some bits for several projects, like seats for my scale crawler and servo saver for the Bullhead. And a engine dummy for my Sand-Blitzer-Beetle-DT-02-Thing...IMG_20200804_193815_compress62.thumb.jpg.d5d00794ad70bc9d2566b0ee67a47894.jpg

These arrived today:

IMG-20200805-221601.jpg

Consisting of:
Aluminum CVAs for the rear of the TT02S
Oil-filled shocks for the Lunch Box
2 steel pinions for the TT02S
Ball bearings for the steering assembly of the Deep Impact (Yes I'm still putting stuff in the df03 lol)
Stainless M2 screws, I can't remember why I ordered those
Hex bolt extractor, to extract that stubborn YR titanium screw that is holding one of my aluminum battery posts captive in the TT02 stock chassis
Blue aluminum standoffs to put under the fibrelyte top deck on my TT02S
The final piece (or so I thought) of the double cardan axles to put in the front of the TT02S (more about this in the "What have you done today" thread)

This came in today, along with my M08! (No pic as it's still in-box) plus a few hopups also sealed in the box. I'll open that in a day or two to put on here, but below is the smaller box that I did open:

I realised the other day that some of my LiPos were from 2015. So I thought I’d try out a new to me brand.

5-E64135-D-5-C1-A-41-C8-8-A80-55715-E1-E

Yet to try it, but it looks to be a good fit for most models.

Amazon delivered too, which saves me from the temptation to add more things to get free delivery :D

Yeah, I regret saying that now that you're just bombarding us with your juicy hop-up goodness 🤣🤣🤣

Love it mate! 👍

And with the influx of M chassis stuff, you could change/edit your 'confusion' thread to a M chassis specific thread 😎
