The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Recommended Posts

The Super Sabre body I ordered from Penguin arrived today.

No picture because it's a bodyshell in a bag so there's not much to see. But it seems perfectly fine and includes the lower wing section which is an improvement over the TBG version.

Now, other than decals, I'm all set for when/if I get round to doing anything with the Super Sabre!

Edit: After posting, having mentioned decals, I suddenly had a vague recollection of ordering some Super Sabre decals.

A quick search of my emails shows I did indeed order some from MCI a while back. So they should be stashed away somewhere, meaning the only thing I lack before sorting the Super Sabre is motivation!

Probably right. Chances are it'll probably get sold before I get to do anything with it

Well.... look what the nice postman showed up with today. Not one, not two, but THREE boxes: 2 little and 1 big.

Here are the contents of the 2 little ones:

I bought one of those TRF boxes ages ago and put it aside when I realised that the boxes inside so small I couldn't store parts in them to my satisfaction. It came into its own, however, with my trail truck build. I'm forever building, disassembling, rebuilding, disassembling and rebuilding so I use it to store parts during this process - soo handy! All the tiny washers and nuts go in a box step by step rather than on wherever I am working , ready to be knocked on to the floor at the first opportunity!

Don't need/want any more cars at the moment, but I wanted a little project, so I got myself another lovely shell from L and L models. It's a bit hard to photograph clear shells, but it will eventually look something like this:

Should look nice on my TB03 or FF03.

Honestly I was a little disappointed when I saw its actual size. I thought it would be a little bigger, but you're right, it's perfect for storing the screws/washers/etc for each step of a build.

I've seen the later Mondeo in person at Goodwood in the past, very cool cars. I personally prefer the 98 cars which were mainly blue, be much easier to paint too

I keep eyeing-up the LandL mk1 escorts, but just saw their note that they don't fit the XV01, so that ruined that plan :(

Yeah, i like a fast Ford. I looked at the 98 car, but i think the silver stripes would need masking, and this comes with decent RapidFit decals. I am hoping in reality its a fairly straightforward mask on the diagonal underneath the spanner.

Shame the esky doesn't fit the XV01, but doesn't surprise me. It's quite a small shell. They have loads of other cool stuff.

Where did you find this? It's similar to the HPI Q32 buggy that was discontinued. I want one for driving around my house.

I decided I couldn't sell my M07 so I got it a new motor and I didn't want to ruin a pair of S-Grips running around the road outside so I got some basic radials too.  The spare inner foam is for the XV01 but mostly because only buying two things feels odd.
