The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Not the postman, but the Fedex man...

Four key points:

  1. I am VERY chuffed to have got hold of one, even if it is a re:re:re(re:re??)lease :D
  2. It came all the way from the Far East in under a week in a box valued at $10  Nice!
  3. It arrived just after Mrs J popped out for 30 minutes, so made it into the house and up into the loft undetected . Sweet!
  4. Did I mention that I am VERY chuffed :D

@JuhunioIt came via Fed Ex valued at £10?!!! Amazing!  While it is up in the loft you should periodically remind yourself of its goodness

Excellent it got through HM customs without getting charged there is just something satisfying about coming out on top even if its pennies it just don't matter we pay more than enough tax in the UK! but just a word of warning if you undervalue your items and something goes wrong (goes missing or gets damaged) then you can only claim for that value and if HM revenue customs did stop it and its found to be of higher value they take a very dim view and can pursue you legally for tax/vat fraud!, I had it with a Jun Watanabe hornet a few years ago it went missing I got nothing.

If it's payed for via PayPal and it goes missing then I'm sure your covered for the purchase price👍

The invoice valuation is all down to the vendor / retailer so nothing to do with me if challenged by C&E and on the vendor if it gets lost in transit 👍

New gearbox casing for the HCT 💥

Glued the broken one but felt it was going to be a false economy for £10 inc delivery.

My Mondeo body from L and L arrived today, pretty happy as thats about a week from ordering to arriving.  And my wife wasn't home when it arrived, but I have a bit of a problem now.  I have 3 new bodies in a pile and unfortunately I told her how much they cost, and she also knows that I keep chips (crisps for you northeners) in with my battery chargers (I need to hide chips and chocolate as otherwise they disappear so fast, and some members of my family complain they are getting fat so we shouldn't have chips and chocolate in the house, so I keep a tube of chips in my charger box for race days).  The bodies are on top of the battery chargers.  So next time she is looking for chips she might find the bodies.  But she may not mention anything as then I'll know she took my chips.

The body looks pretty good though, mind for the price (about double what I'd normally pay for a body because of shipping) it should be.

Nothing fancy today, just a servo for the M06.  A few other bits have been ordered and then I can commence the build.

Sounds like you and Mrs Gillham gave about the same restraint 😂

One day, she'll be sitting there in the single seater facing the front door, crossed leg with the slipper wiggling uncontrollably, and a mouthful of chips/crisps when you walk in the door, with a 'end of the world' look on her face, with all her RC findings sitting in a pile beside her...

"What's this?" she will say, while chippie crumbs shoot from her mouth... and you will realise your trump card, that she's eating, is no longer valid...

Sorry, had a mental picture 😅

Today the STX2 radio arrived for my dump truck, at least I can easily turn the throttle down now for the kids, even though the dumper and body have big pieces missing from them 😄

Yeah you could be right? I have no experience of getting refunds from PayPal I didn't have that when my jun Watanabe hornet went missing but because it had a value and if I can remember £25 (I think) it was under the allowed value before your taxed on it! Like I say it's good to basically come out on top when it comes to the tax man because it very rarely happens👍

So it was my birthday on Tuesday and knowing that my entire family would only buy me stuff I either-
Don't want
or
Don't need
I bought myself some stuff from various online RC retailers... When I say some stuff...

Delivery #1 Tamico:
TT02 chassis kit (with oil damper and bearings) - this is for a Porsche Carrera RSR build... should have just bought the whole Carrera RSR kit but hey-ho!
The wheels and hubs for my RSR build
TT02 Aluminium propshaft
Hilux Surfboard for my Jeep Wrangler build
Traxxas dummy radiator for my Kyosho Rampage Outlaw

50624240726_a78951d1b4_b.jpg

Delivery #2 Asiatees & RCMart part 1
Another surfboard for my Jeep (I figured 1 wasn't enough!)
M-Chassis Kamei Golf wheels for my M06 Ferrari Dino project
TT02B Turnbuckle set for my DF-02 build (they're the same lengths)
Last remaining bits for my TA05 'drift spec' build, including spoiler and gold wheels
2x Rear body post supports for my 2 TA05 cars, which reposition the posts to the more traditional inboard sizing instead of the wider stance from the trf / carbon suspension towers
Some front universal swing-shafts for my FF03 project
WR02 Gearbox stiffener
FF02 motor heat sink
A mixture of steel and aluminium 4.8mm ball connectors
Ball bearings to fit to my Tamiya Super Stock motors

50624344637_cfd5eb97fb_b.jpg

Delivery #3 RCMart Part 2
K-block tyres for my DT02 once the existing ones have worn out (running DF03 wheels)
DF03 aluminium dampers for my DT02
3Racing alloy dampers for my TA05 project
Quick release battery holder for my TL01
Blue turnbuckles for my XV-01 (entirely @Nicadraus's fault)
WR02 driver figure for my Kyosho Outlaw
White touring car springs for my TA05
TT02 oil damper set for my MF-01X Escort project
Universal swing shafts for my DT02 inc. diff outdrives
Alloy hex adapters for my XV-01 and Kyosho Outlaw
Tamiya panel line sticker sheet (excited to try these, I never have got on with the micron line tape from Kyosho - fingers crossed, the sheets are HUGE!)

50623499908_e87dc8d52a_b.jpg

I feel ashamed to say that was all placed within 1 weekend and I'm still waiting on 2x Plaza Japan orders to arrive.

Oh and one of those WPL delivery truck things, which I'm going to have to try and hide somewhere...

Happy Birthday to me!

Oh and if the wife asks this is all I ordered:

50624344542_77fb3629a1_b.jpg

I have the 1:10 body set, stickers, wheels and cockpit to start on which will then go on my TA03F. Should look good alongside a mini-me version!
