the fact that this thread was on the second page just goes to show how bad our hobby is suffering right now. These motors and esc have been out of stock for months.

Always like the box art on the lunchbox! I always think the best colour for this little beauty is TS47 chrome yellow because it looks more like the colour on the box it's a deeper yellow! the colour tamiya say to do (TS16 I think ) is a bit to bright (just my opinion)🙂

I decided to try out some Posca paint pens/markers to see if they would be an easy way to add small paint touches to body shells etc. I've had pretty good luck with cheap Chinese "Sipa" branded ones (when I can find genuine ones, amazes me that even cheap Chinese stuff has it's shoddy clones sometimes!) but they are oil based and while it makes them quite resilient (good for tyres etc), they aren't any good for going on top of existing paint because it can dissolve it. The Posca ones are water based so while probably less resilient, I thought they might work better on top of paint without ruining the paint and themselves.

On the whole, I was pretty pleased with them! Some colours are a bit better than others, the red isn't a real deep red and more like a reddish pink but other ones like the orange are brilliant. I also found you could do multiple coats without disturbing the coat underneath unlike the oil based ones.

Nothing amazing by any means but as a way to quickly add some small details that you never get round to doing, they make a good quick fix!

I ordered chrome too but I got that one in Molotow brand because apparently they are one of the best. I will let you know how I get on with that.

Got the first delivery for my txt-2 build today. Impressed that deliveries from Tamico (Germany) are as fast or faster than deliveries within Norway. Sadly they didn't have the ball bearings, rcbearingsuk aren't shipping out of country due to the UK lockdown, so waiting for a delivery from fasteddybearings that I know won't be fast. Apart from the bearings I'm constantly hitting refresh on the tracking info from Tonys Tamiya parts that have a Clod shell on the way.

Not much, I found this Dyna-run stock motor for 20€ on Ebay, it looked pretty good on the pictures so I went for it, and it turned out okay, the brushes on it are the exact same length as the new ones I ordered so I think it hasn't been used all that much, I'll just put some oil on the brass bushings and throw it in my TA02SW Porsche for a test run. I hope it'll be about as fast as a modern Sport Tuned motor, we'll see.

Parma used to do one as far as I know they are still available? Try a company called kamtec? But for looks you can't beat the original plastic body!

The Agrios I bought from Japan along with some other kits three years ago, made sense to bundle together to get the shipping cost pr kit down. And it was stupidly affordable, 150 euros if I remember correctly.

Glad to hear you like it, apart from the Monster Beetle it's the first non buggy kit I've bought and looking forward to building it.

Agree with @moffman regarding the Lunch Box body. @Wandy posted a stunning blue one in the latest model built thread. Almost made me want one real bad.

Got these from Plaza Japan today, they were pretty cheap about £30 including postage.

I think they will go on the TT02 to replace the standard pogo sticks.

Got this a couple of weeks ago. It's a mini heat gun for heat shrink etc that basically uses a disposable lighter as the fuel source.

Flameless gas heat gun for heatshrink & splice IRODA MJ600 - Robson's Tool King Store

I was a bit wary about the lethality and effectiveness but it's bloomin brilliant. The temperature is just right, just enough to make the heat shrink work but never gets hot enough to char it so you can get a nice consistent finish vs trying to wing it with a lighter and getting a lumpy mess half the time. Takes a few seconds to get up to heat but the fuel lasts ages so it's no biggie.

Dead impressed with it!

Just fitted a pair of those to a M01 the other day 👍

Got a card to call for this so went and picked it up from the store.

I paid for it on the 30th of November, which isn't a problem, except for the fact it was sent EMS, so under normal circumstances it should be here 3-5 days. Even with a pandemic and the holiday season, I still think the delay is pitiful. 🤨

Bought another servo relocation mount as the one I ordered from RC Mart 5 weeks ago haven’t arrived yet. It’s the only part that is holding up everything. Got fed up of waiting so I ordered another from Atees and remember that they offered Fedex international priority ship for about $20 to me in the US. So I decided to take the plunge and order my first brushless system and Tamiya RZ motor for my TT01. To my surprise I got free shipping using that Fedex. It only took 2 days from HK to US ! Yea 😀 Even though it took Atees 3 days to process the order due to limited staff working. I’ll be busy this weekend .. more parts coming tomorrow.

Nice! I'd heard of these, but never seen available to get a hold of; nor any decent shots of one. Keen to see how the body actually looks detail wise, and how you end up finishing it.

I've just bought that same shell from l&l models for a tt02 chassis that arrived yesterday with a few hop ups so now I can recreate my mk1 escort I had as my first car when I was 17, wow that seems like so long ago now 😪😢😭 I'm not crying 😭honestly

Ditto @ploots, a MK1 was actually my 2nd car though , I had a MK2 estate first that belonged to my Uncle who was a Dog handler at Wandsworth prison. It only had 50,000. Miles on it but had been parked in his garage for two years which fermented the unique fragrance of Alsatian somewhat 😬.  It took some cleaning before my then girlfriend would set foot in it. A year later a friend was looking for a car and there was a 2 door MK1 1300 in really good nick for sale near work. He turned it down so I bought it and swapped the motor out of the MK2 and kept it myself. It would cruise all day at 80/85 mph on the motorway. Great car (and didn’t smell either) It was a red one, and I happen to have a tin of PS red 😁. I don’t have a chassis for it yet but was thinking of a TT02R. It was seeing TC member Jimbo’s a while back that set this off.

Where did you buy this tihing or what would the name of the product bee?. I have one blower meant for ktichen use (on Marengs or pig skin etc, i used to be a Chef so i have all these kitchen gadgets)  but i have a problem with filling it with Gas so i gaver up on it, but this i would not need to fill but then again i believe you must have a exact type of lighter

Motor arrived for my Outlaw mod project yesterday (I didn't discover it until I went for a walk after dark).

An impulse buy (why do I do it to myself?), low turn high torque motor. So I have been looking at gearing calculations to try and find a way of not destroying it on the first run.

I've ordered a temperature gun and have been looking a smaller than stock pinions.

Yeah the Blue Lunchie body looks great in hard plastic. To be honest I now wish I had grabbed one of the red special kits too with the red plated wheels.
