And I've just realised something he's swapped the metal roof for the standard hotshot one😡!

The R5 Turbo is still a thing of beauty even now 40+ years later 👍

I think this is what I like about some of the older stuff, there's just something about the antiquated. simple, mechanical look, and then some of the metal parts.

This arrived out of the blue(no pun intended) today. Wasnt really expecting it til beginning of Feb.

What a little cracker. I went for the blue body rather than silver and took the 2 battery option. Grand total of £49!!!!! I have to say it is unbelivable. The body alone is worth that. I managed to give it a quick charge and run it around. Won't win any prizes for finesse, as its quite noisy but apart from that what a hoot. The steering angle, it has two settings is amazing. Also has a 2 speed setting as well. I have a set of 12mm hex converters on a very slow boat from the far East but in the meantime its just fun... I have to say again the quality of the hard body is just astonishing, how they do it for the money. I seem to be getting more and more into these RTR vehicles. Really enjoyed busting open the box and was running it in half an hour. Still cant wait for the Escort though as I do love building. Hopefull I am finding a happy balance. Might even become a ride for Willy!!!!!!

Postey came with a bag of goodies from my freight forwarder, which is how I get stuff from eBay US to this part of the world. Mostly stuff for my Super Hotshot, and some other bits.

Moving top left to bottom right:

Longer Hotshot battery brackets for LiPo

3d printed Hotshot suspension arm brace (not sure if this will fit properly under the SHS shell)

Replacement DCJs for my TT02S that I pilfered to put in the XV01

Hobbystar 13.5T sensored brushless motor (not sure where this will go, I just liked the way it looked so bought it lol)

7mm aluminum hexes to put modern wheels on the Super Hotshot

8mm male/female standoffs to eliminate some of the bumpsteer on the Super Hotshot

2 battery screw posts for the hole on my M06 that is mocking me every time I look at it. Obviously I only needed one (the fourth hole is for the antenna holder), but I only found a set of two.

Hot Racing beadlock rings for the Super Hotshot (?!) see my post in "what have you done today" for more detail.

Fast Eddy 5mm thick 1150 bearings

TRF large diameter springs for the MF01X that has crappy YR big bore springs right now

HPI x-pattern touring car tires because I liked the way they looked. They will probably end up being  fitted on some new chassis I haven't bought yet

i just got in my hard plastic drift tire set that has fake tire treads and its a good fit for my black/red rims. i used hot water on the plastic drift tire and pushed it onto the rims.  i put it on a bit crooked to get it past the first tire lip and might've shave 0.5m off the inner lines on the plastic rims but they fit nicely,  i just need to go and glue them.  i probably rounded 1 edge on the inner side of the rim with the way i installed it on and the tire material was a bit warm but no big damage was done. the tire material was slightly scraped but nothing serious. im hoping the liquidy krazy glue will seep in properly into the bead gap.

Shrink wrapped Super Astute courtesy of @burakol.  I had an Astute when I was younger and always wanted another but the Super Astute will more than stand in.  I'll probably do it in Astute box art as it appears there are Astute decals available on ebay.

Intercoolers, motor mount, old Hop-up screws from eBay, the rest from Tamico. Ordered before Christmas but the package got returned when the UK border closed. Then there was the new customs/shipping procedure to work out. The body set is the Audi V8.

Tamico refunded me the German VAT then it was sent via DHL, before ParcelForce picked it up in the UK. Same as what happens with packages from Japan. I expected it to stall at the national hub while charges were raised, then get the letter with the item held until payment received. That didn't happen so maybe the procedure has now changed and I'll get a letter from DHL with a bill. I've had that happen with FedEx stuff from The States, item arrives then an invoice weeks later.

A lot of my lipos are starting to age now, starting to puff a little bit.

No dramas, but I felt it was time to take it a bit more seriously

Lots of 2S’s allowed in at once, which is good. However the rubber charging port can cope with 1 set of cables at best as far as I can get it to fit (even then I can see a little daylight). So quad charging might not be occurring with this beastie.

66 Chevelle body for my soon to be cleaned and reassembled Thunder Dragon.  I’m also hoping my measurements are accurate. LMT arrived too.

I did the same thing a couple years ago, it’s a good case. That port is the only downside, such a tight fit for cables.

You are not alone in that boat, this is mostly battery RC related stuff though , not expensive stuuff either (also new xt60 connectors to replace standard Tamiya contacts as they are not very safe):

So I got this all the way from Milan, Italy today. It is on the m02 chassis, but as you can its been bashed about. I will probably keep the shell for running it and paint the spare shell up nicely for display.
