Yeah, it's a lovely touch. I love getting deliveries from Plaza Japan, even the Japanese newspaper they pad the boxes out with is kinda wonderful

Hello again folks, hope everyone is ok during these hard times.

A little help please.

I bought this Frog from Ebay the other day, and it wasn't listed with much information so I wasn't sure what I was getting into.  It's fairly good condition, overall with one or two small problems.  It's an original, as far as I know, since it has hex ended drive shafts, and one those is worn.

Anyway, my query is about the dampers.  They're a smooth metal cylinder like those found on the Wild One.  All pictures of the Frog that I've seen show it with ribbed dampers.

 

Was there ever an earlier edition of the Frog - a MK1 - that had a different damper, or has the previous owner just swapped out the dampers for whatever reason?  Any answers appreciated.

Haha! Well if I’d got my hands on it in the 80s it’d have been built for sure. Now I am happy to have it an unbuilt kit as a time capsule. Missed the rere & couldn’t resist this.

No Tamiya in this delivery, but bought a 'Bat box ' for a bit more peace of mind ,charging in the garage at the new house. Plus a few bits and bobs ,for when we're allowed out to play! 🙄🤞😁

Sellout in a Norewgian RC webshop, got all the stuff in the picture for 430kr shipping included (think it would be 39gbp) and thats amazing prizes for a Norwegian webshop which is in general very overpriced. They did not have Rear Mono 2.2 wheels so bought that and medium Tire glue from RcMart, i was very suprised to find out you must glue them on as my plan was to change Tires depending on surface, i need to re-think this it seems.

They will fit Top-Force wheel directly, but again if i must glue them on im not sure..

My thoughts exactly? I tried having a mint boxed with my blitzer beetle metallic special.........it didn't last! Every time I looked at it I just wanted so much to build it! I might have kept it boxed if I had somewhere to display it but it was stuck in my wardrobe so it was a bit pointless so it got built and I never regretted it!
