The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

Impulse purchases. The low friction king pins can go in the M-four, and the tweezers I liked because I've used someone elses before 😁

The last of the tricky bits for the Evo III project, and the final piece in my FF03RR jigsaw

spacer.png

I've been searching for the carbon reinforced FF03 deck for about 12 months now and had one on a low-n-slow back order from Japan which was believed to be on the way for the last 6 months. And then suddenly wasn't. And never will be. So settled for the standard deck, meaning I can get started soon...

Been wanting one of these for years but held off properly chasing one as I really thought that Tamiya would re-release it on the F104W, like they did the McLaren MP4/6. Got sick of waiting though so finally pulled the trigger on this original.

Now just watch that re-release be announced this year.

Got the other 3 Boom Racing wheels in, planning on getting things mounted and installed after work tonight, might be a bit late since I’m planning on working an hour of O/T past the end of my shift though.

HKS Skyline body set from JK-RC on eBay, the rest from Plaza Japan again.

I've not bought that many bodies recently, only two this year so far. Mainly due to having amassed all the ones I like. This Skyline is the 254th body I've bought :o I've sold a fair few, but I think there's still nearly 200 in the stash.

Love this. When my wife complains about the growing number of bodies in my workspace, I can now say “but there’s this guy on Tamiyaclub...”

An Evo III delivery all the way from Plaza Japan

And the latest novelty eraser, which this time is also a (seemingly) functioning spinning top toy! Hurrah!

i would be careful how you use that eraser/spinning top to wear it down evenly, it looks like it could get unbalanced easily LOL

I got an original Wild Willy box art mug, but I do not think it is a copyright authorized mug so no pictures.   The image is a tad over saturated in bluish color but not bad.

I should be getting some basic electronics as well today.  Hobbywing 1060, 20kg servo, and Spektrum 2 channel RX for my upcoming build.

I was sold a Spektrum DX5C(overpriced and etc but I splurged a bit at local shops) and discovered just how un-economical the receivers would be with many cars. Augmenting that with a DUMBORC and their ~15USD receivers. Better for sharing too.

These LiPos were a great deal as long as they don't blow up on me. 20USD for the lot! Should fit the trikes and other cars requiring the rounded sticks. Both arrived at 3.85 on all cells. Needed to "open up" each of the female pins on the balance lead individually before I could get the LiPo alarm/meter plugged in. Kind of an odd quirk.

I got my 2nd Tactic TTX300 radio transmitter today. This one is missing a 2021 TD kit to call home/best friend... Its a basic but capable model and best of all, no antenna post needed.

Bit of, what the postman brought me, and a heads up.

Popped into Aldi for some milk ,and came out with some plastic shelving too!

Fairly decent size, as the Bullhead shows!!

I have one of the same battery and its a few mm long and presents a tight fit on most... also being that the wires are sticking towards the side/corners makes it challenging for me... hopefully you can make it work for your purpose...

Plaza again! With such cheap prices It's almost like the halcyon days of Banzai Hobby, although sadly without the crazy cheap SAL shipping.

Not yet, will get a clear body set at some point, but I'm not a huge fan so I'll probably wait until a customer requests one before I do it.

I have several items I bought from a store in HK back in January that have no tracking update since 2/11, a NIB vintage kit I bought from a Japanese store early March with no update since 3/18.. and 2 other orders shipped recently (UK and Japan) with no tracking provided.   I have to say with thousands of dollars at stake we just need to be patient.  At least the SWB used Willy I bought recently from Japan appears to be arriving next week so I am just keepin my fingers crossed..
