Nice! Did you get yours from Franktons?

Yeah I think it can stay on the MF01x. I have subconsciously been trying to keep bodies that were available on each  chassis, on what they should be on. I am not bothered in a big way that the escort needs to be on a rwd chassis too much, as then I could also argue that Tamiya doesn't do a FR chassis for it, and where would I draw the line? The body available for the M-four is a odd looking rwd S15 with a kit, which I don't particularly like, so also not sure what I am going to do there...

Had it on pre-order for about a month or so with RCNZ.  As soon as they were listed I paid for one just in case NZ was getting a tiny shipment that might sell out.  Tempted to get a second of course.

I haven't even finished off my MX5 body for the M06 chassis and it's already been superseded by the Escort.  The chassis is probably not great for even slightly rough surfaces but I'm going RWD so I can relive a bit of my youth doing donuts in the gravel with a MkII Escort.  :D

Yeah my LHS got 6 in and they all went straight away. Fair enough, the M06 seems to be the flavour for a RWD version. Haha, I didnt have an escort, but a few mates did. 👍

Some old school HPI Work wheels arrived!  I was really lucky to find someone who still had these since they were the perfect solution to the terrible offset of the stock wheels on the TS050.  These 26mm wheels have a 3mm offset which is just enough to fill the wheel wells for a much better look.  I have some custom 24mm wheels being 3d printed via Shapeways which are replicas of the actual wheels on the real car.  They will have the proper offset as well.  It will be a few weeks before they arrive so these will do for now!

For me, some more 3D printed parts.. M38 grill, motor adapters, SWB M38 front upper tower tie downs.    Nothing exciting, but gives me piece of mind having these for future mishaps or projects.

Nice, I have a 3D printed grille and motor adapter like that plus some window hinges for my eventual LWB M38 restoration. Based on the the state of my car, it will need a few more parts than that!

Looks like might be easier to just get a WW2 body and driver figure tree and swap out the grill and perhaps the roll cage.

(Front body mounting position different on the WW2 as with the hood as you already know)

i finally got my inspiration/tribute idea for the Tamiya Manta in today. he set me back $70 or so, missing the tail/sword, 6 discs that shoot from the chest mouth, a shark gun with 2 yellow torpedoes. i didnt wait for a more complete listing and one just came up yesterday for a similar price and its only missing 2 yellow disks, it has the shark gun and tail/sword. oh thats life to miss out on somethings like that. id have liked to get one which atleast has the tail/sword so the image looks complete but the one i got is in good condition and the hinges are solid and sound so i cant complain much. its very back heavy... enough about the missing pieces, this is my theme for my Manta build. i didnt have much time to admire him as i dropped by the mail boxes a bit early before heading off to work. gonna enjoy the figure more tommorow in day light. the character's name is Depth Charge from the Transformers Beast wars series.  his beast mode is *shock* a Manta Ray.

Hot diggity dawg, an expensive T spanner arrived today, but it was the bonus buggy kit Tamiya threw in that swayed me to buy it 😁

Such a relief to see these finally turn up in Australia and as it was my birthday at the time it would have been silly not to. Another added bonus was the 15% off promo code on the day as well, so it’s good to tick the box that has been unchecked for some 36+ years. I can now also stop kicking myself for missing the 2014 run too.

There is NO SHAME in hiding that, I was always into the series G2 up to the Prime series. Recently came across a YT vid of 15yr anniversary BW and they mentioned DVDs. I'm like what the ______ and looked them up on Amazon. When it's all done I will have beast wars 1-3, beast machines and Prime 1-3 DVD sets. Still think of the tragedy of tiger and hawk saga and the Manta... I got 2 DVD sets left which sucks BC I got BW 2-3, BM and Prime 1 and 3. It makes it hard to watch chronologically... Silverbolt also was a fav but Depth Charge was still tied for first. The beast hunters predacons rising was a great also. I got plenty of Gundam kits but after seeing Depth Charge figure, I had to have one... I can still equip him with a beam *energon* saber from the several kits I have.

I'm sure you'd like how the Manta ends up when I can get all the parts, stickers and paint on it. It's the reason I bought that Manta Ray buggy.

The BW netflix sounds interesting, still don't have it but I have Amazon prime. It doesn't help with Netflix but I got some access to tv and movies. Not big on those streaming services in general.

picked up a GB-01 tam tech chassis kit.

2021-05_06_recent_purchases-1.jpeg

2021-05_06_recent_purchases-2.jpeg

a Tamtech Gear Hotshot body which may or may not go on the above chassis

2021-05_06_recent_purchases-5.jpeg

my new inkjet printer arrived too (well I've actually had it for two weeks, what arrived was Phil the technician to set it up :o). It took him 3 hours to get it out of the box to this stage where he could boot it up. Tomorrow it gets commissioned and I can do some test prints (and actual jobs!). This is a business purchase, but it will allow me to print my own decals, using white ink on clear. I've got a couple sets I've made up that I will try tomorrow and will post the results.

2021-05_06_recent_purchases-3.jpeg

ink cartridges and printheads, each ink cartridge holds 1 litre of ink! Colours are White, black, magenta, light magenta, cyan and light cyan. Plus two mixture cartridges (no idea yet what they do) and an optimiser  fluid for helping it stick to different media

Nice, that you picked up a TTG GB01 chassis. And as a bonus the kit version comes with blue oil filled danpers. (These dampers work good). You will be amazed about the quality of the GB01 and also the drive (if you fit a faster motor).

As I have a couple of GB01's and a GB03 I never thought of trying the Hotshot body on the GB01. Something to try coming weekend.

yogi-bear - Nice.  Does your printer do white or light gray print on clear adhesive sheets?

Been trying to figure out a way how to print the alphanumeric hood numbers "USA 2051312" in white (or light gray) for my restored Willy's..
