my new inkjet printer arrived too (well I've actually had it for two weeks, what arrived was Phil the technician to set it up :o). It took him 3 hours to get it out of the box to this stage where he could boot it up. Tomorrow it gets commissioned and I can do some test prints (and actual jobs!). This is a business purchase, but it will allow me to print my own decals, using white ink on clear. I've got a couple sets I've made up that I will try tomorrow and will post the results.

2021-05_06_recent_purchases-3.jpeg

ink cartridges and printheads, each ink cartridge holds 1 litre of ink! Colours are White, black, magenta, light magenta, cyan and light cyan. Plus two mixture cartridges (no idea yet what they do) and an optimiser  fluid for helping it stick to different media

wow that's a beaut you say that for buisness purpose cause if so i could give you a order

Nice, that you picked up a TTG GB01 chassis. And as a bonus the kit version comes with blue oil filled danpers. (These dampers work good). You will be amazed about the quality of the GB01 and also the drive (if you fit a faster motor).

As I have a couple of GB01's and a GB03 I never thought of trying the Hotshot body on the GB01. Something to try coming weekend.

cool, that's good to know about the shocks. I only bought the Hotshot body as its was the only body of any type I could find. Well, there was the Wild Boar body set, but that doesn't interest me.

Wow mate, where’d you find the GB01? Looking forward to the test prints too 👍🏻

Found at both aisatees.com and rcjaz.com.au and both still seem to have them, but aisatees had much cheaper shipping, with it ending up being about $148 AUD shipped.

yogi-bear - Nice.  Does your printer do white or light gray print on clear adhesive sheets?

Been trying to figure out a way how to print the alphanumeric hood numbers "USA 2051312" in white (or light gray) for my restored Willy's..

it does indeed to pure white.

I must admit I have struggled with this idea before. I could certainly do printed decal sheets before (and have even helped a few people on the side) and now being able to print white means I should be able to remake a sticker sheet properly. Just need to chose an appropriate vinyl to use. What I will struggle with though is artwork, unless I can get print ready artwork, I will be slow to produce stickers as work is flat out (the reason I got this beast). But something like @Willy iine's hood numbers should be pretty easy.

I dropped by LHS to pick up 10x 1150 and 2x 850 bearing for the .lunch box I recently ordered. Also got TS1 tamiya for it and pondering which lighter  ugly drab brown I will make the body. I'm going for that old ugly bland colors RVs had in the old days. Not sure which lighter brown I will do as I'm planning to have a picture/sticker on it with similar color tone. Don't know if the print shop will reject it but they are already tinkering around on the Manta sticker request. I just wish they had more email updates to keep me in the loop...

At last! someone I can share my secret Transformer addiction with!! Really looking forward to the new Netflix Transformers: Beast Wars.

I just hit "buy" on the Weijiang Metal Dition

I'm a G1 TF fan. Mainly comic-based though. My parents tried to give me back my box of G1 toys but lockdowns got in the way :D. I'll be getting them soon.

I have absolutely no idea what @nel33 was talking about!

Which part? The no shame or me mentioning anything but G1? I don't have anything against any of the series, I just happened to watch/enjoy BW and subsequent series. If it's about the color for lunch box then im referring to the tan brown colors older RV models came in.

well, as luck would have it, I also have artwork for the Willy Decal sheet, but I didn't do the artwork. Is Mike Van Der Merwe still on this site?

Ordered these on March 23rd, took the seller two weeks to dispatch, then got stuck in Tokyo for a month? Never ordering from Expresshobby again.

These are for my CPE Carbon clod, as I keep breaking the centres out of clod wheels...

Only the TF stuff and no offence intended, honest - my knowledge is limited to G1 in print and a some of the more recent IDW series like Lost Light. I've got the original Sunbow (?) series on DVD but I'm waiting to watch with my son in a couple of years! There are so many iterations of TF I just can't keep up!

The TTG bodies can still be found. I wanted something different on one of my GB01's and fitted a Proline Baja Bug from the Mini Micro series. For this body I used the Wild Boar body mounts.

I've got the whole G1 Sunbow series too, along with several versions of the movie. Don't be surprised if your son looks across to you in an accusing manner when you put the cartoons on - they haven't aged well!! :) Somewhere up in the attic I've got most of the comic series for G1 too. My parents weren't keen on me playing with guns (despite my continual protests that they were blasters!) so I didn't have many transformer toys as a kid, but I've made up for it since! The IDW stuff is very cool to read too.

Personally I think the toys peaked with the Prime and War For Cybertron series, since then they've looked a bit cheaper to me. Those along with the Classics and Masterpiece lines are the bulk of my collection now. And no, I'm not a fan of the Bay movies!!! :(

A NIB TGX turned up yesterday, with a few hop ups thrown in. Now that's what I'd call a 'Proper Kit'! - happy days!

Don't feel too bad or blame the seller.. my NIB M38 Willy has been stuck in Japan since mid March.. still there at the port.    Current norm is 1-3 months wait from Asia to USA (in my case) depending on which ship mode used.

Don't worry, none was ever taken. I can't stand the new cartoon style shows. I think i saw a bit of G1 back in the day but was more into Looney tunes series and TMNT, street sharks, biker mice from mars, SWAT Kats and a few other wacky shows of that era. Wacky races was entertaining. I liked the CG of BW, BM and Prime and all 3 stories were great. Ask me anything after prime series and I can only shrug my shoulders in confusion...

@Jon Boy Micheal bay can be tossed into Unicron's blood and stay there (hope he doesn't rise up after...). The movies are entertaining but CG destruction and explosions= plot isn't a valid theory. Zack Snynder can be lumped into that also...

ah, that is even easier :D but freight would be a killer from Australia. Would be easy to set up the artwork though and email it to you, so PM me if you any help. Any mug with a vinyl cutter could make it.

@yogi-bear

Do you have any recommendations on some reasonable quality vinyl to create stickers onto that would work well and stick well?

I picked up a new printer earlier in the year and it's on my list of things to attempt, but I've no idea what sort of vinyl would be best really.

It's nothing like you have there and I'm absolutely no designer it's more things to keep me out of trouble for an evening!

I know I'm limited due to the whole can't print white part but I think most of what I'd like to do I can do some work arounds.

Thanks
