Nothing amazing but it's always exciting when you receive something you forgot you ordered. Courtesy of 1999.

Got my TA08

E644BC6D-2748-4739-AFE9-E923956757A6.jpg

I think it’ll be a stock build. I haven’t found any hop-ups required for something that only makes it as far as postal racing? :D

Enjoy - these are awesome kits to build, the quality and materials are top notch.

The TA08 articles on here are worth a read if you've not been through already: https://www.thercracer.com/2021/07/58693-tamiya-ta08-pro-build-review-and.html?m=0

For postal racing I would think you can stay hopup free, but the carbon shock towers are cheap and provide some additional tuning options :D

Looks like I’m going to need a 3s battery for my M chassis’s now to compete in Postal Racing 🤣😂

I think I now have everything I need to complete and run my first build in 30+ years!

Nope. I need paint!

A couple of ORV Gearbox braces. Mine aren’t showing any signs of clicking but prevention is always better than cure.

Thanks @Xeostar, they look great 👍🏻

Are these a permanent fix? I would be keen on another ORV but they are really expensive when you factor in the MIP diff as well.

I believe so, I saw these come up on @Problemchild’s project thread that he seems to have destroyed a MB bodyshell on 3s and the gearbox is still fine.

PM @Xeostar (nice bloke) and he will no doubt fix you up. From memory these 2 posted were half the price of an MIP, cheap insurance if you ask me 😉

Great thanks for the links. These would've meant another MB instead of the Lunchbox! Still working out an angle for a new TRF so the ORV on the backburner...for now

Ha! I wouldn’t worry, I was getting similar lap counts with TT02s vs TA07 so unless I’ve had an upgrade I’d doubt this TA08 would change much :D

I’d love to get back doing some postal racing, just time and locations are not aligning at the moment.

3s in an M chassis, that sounds like a challenge in itself!

I doubt I'll ever build this, I don't have the patience, particularly for the paintwork.

I want one to match each of my 1:10's, I have a Jager en route but have yet to find a Vaillant for a reasonable price.

And I'm a sucker for great boxart.

Various bits for various kits.

Getting stuff almost on the daily lately. Luckily I'm a better smuggler than Mrs Zealot is the household customs officer.

a magnifier and light birthday pressie from my wife as I had been moaning about my middle aged eyes struggling with my Egress build! I’m taking this as overt backing of my new hobby ;)

Opened a few packages that I’ve acquired over the past week or two, I’ve been out of town so haven’t been able to open them till today. I’m glad to find out that my mystery package from Japan is an actual kit and not just parts or who knows what :D. Now I just have to figure out what I’m going to use it for

Started collecting bits ready for the TD4… though might try the ESC & 5.5T in my HS2 runner when I switch over to the carbon chassis… B)

2x Bumper/body post parts trees for the M-Four. Bought them locally from a seller with bad feedback that drop ships them from the states, wasn't expecting them for another month if at all to be honest. Only reason I got them is he had two sets which I needed, and the few other sellers only had one.

Anyway, I don't have the two 3x8mm black button head hex screws to install them, so thinking about buying the whole Titanium screw set 🤔
