Been looking at these. Can you confirm if the body has an antenna hole or just the body post holes ?

My first Kyosho, have to decide if I’m gonna paint it box art or match one of my 1:1 bikes... or get another and do both could be another option

Very cool.  I had been eyeing those too.. Kyosho America on eBay has the servo and ESC (?) for them as it appears to use small foot print electronics.  I want one, but I need to complete Akira's Corner first.. :D

  • Thanks 1

I’ve been waiting for it to come in stock for awhile now and I just happened to get the restocked email right before going shopping, so I figured I should grab one before they’re all gone and have to wait months again. Thanks for letting me know about the eBay, somehow I didn’t even think to get a servo or esc (the exact things that led to my buying this ) guess it’s back to shopping, wonder what I’ll end up with this time

Oh man, Kyosho America has some so so decent inventory right now so better get your wallet out!

Can I advise you to test the Carson’s paint killer on a bit of scrap lexan before using it? I damaged a body using the new formula although I never had a problem with the old stuff.

Thanks for the heads up. I was only taking off a really small amount of paint bleed. It worked really gently and doesn't seem to have any adverse effect.

You can also use motor spray (also CRC MAF cleaner) to remove PS paint.  I use that all the time along with Tamiya's precision swabs when I have bleeds on polycarbonate bodies.. I have not had any issue with clouding.

I use motor spray to clean/degrease pretty much everything RC and 1:1 car related so I always buy by the case.. stuff is always around.

Bucket list car for me as an owned one a while back. It’s one of those that Tamiya got perfect in scale / realism. And bizarrely enough no one is reproducing them yet. Not off of this mold anyway.  Theres some 190/200mm’s from other brands that don’t look right at all.

I will take a shot at 3D modeling and printing mirrors, lamp buckets, the instrument panel, Japanese market only one wheels, antenna stub. Maybe even do a spoon front end. We’ll see how well I can model and print and line stuff up.

For rally cars it’s so appropriate with lighting!

Something dangerous from Tamico :D

20221024_085048.jpg

inside:

20221024_090950.jpg20221024_091314.jpg20221024_091327.jpg

Tires for my TA03F and 2 reinforced drive belts for my XV-01.

20221024_091133.jpg These were on sale last week. Paid about the same (even a bit less) for these 2 together as I did 38 years ago for my first 7,2V and 1200mAh hump pack battery

and some "reading"

20221024_091346.jpg

I assume this is not their best seller and they try to get rid of this as it is mentioned on 2 seperate pages... :D

This beauty, and some 26mm wheels that will work with one of the chassis options I have in mind for it (TA05, TA07 or Evo V)

I absolutely love that the new Tamiya body sets are coming in these illustrated boxes instead of polythene bags...bravo 👏

Yep me too. Much better. And the boxed bodies I've bought recently don't have pre-drilled body holes. I like that too...

Yup, that it is a real bonus, total flexibility...

The boxes are easier to store, nicer to display, create a visually engaging companion for dull-as-dishwater chassis kit boxes and are handy for keeping kit spares and leftovers in, particularly if you like to build old kits from parts like me!

All in all, a win!

MCI decals arrived. My initial worry as to the condition, considering the packaging, was gone once opened :)

Will have a closer inspection tonight.

2 weeks from order to delivery to UK.

The Juggernaut 2 came in today.

It has carbon suspension links, and a Clodbuster wider offset kit and wheels.

A great base for something special.

Thiis is for my Fantom.  B)

That's such a cool car! Very intrigued by the chain drive and front one-way on a pan car. Do you have a nice track to run at?

Thanks, yeah.   I should be getting the kit this week.   I'm just going to run it on my EVA foam make shift track.  I think the car is going to be too fast so I will dial down the gearing.

A small box containing a Receiver, XT60 to Dean’s adapter (so I don’t have to cut the factory fitted XT60 plug off a 1080 HW ESC to use my battery) and a Kyosho G22 motor. Seeing as it’s 1 turn better than a Sport Tuned seems like significant performance upgrade 🤣. I’ve got a 20t & 21t in other cars and really like these motors.
