If they’re not identical to Tamiya they give the same awesome feeling of golden era JTCC, BTCC, 90s Motorsport.. you know awesome 5 “ spork “ wheels 😃

A small box containing a Receiver, XT60 to Dean’s adapter (so I don’t have to cut the factory fitted XT60 plug off a 1080 HW ESC to use my battery) and a Kyosho G22 motor. Seeing as it’s 1 turn better than a Sport Tuned seems like significant performance upgrade 🤣. I’ve got a 20t & 21t in other cars and really like these motors.

Nice harvest.  :D  Huh, I should give this motor a try, G22..  usually more turns means lower RPM and more torque.. so dumb people like me would assume the car would be slower, but from the experience I got from their 30 turn 490 motor, the motor has so much torque that I can use more of a BL motor gearing ending up with a MUCH faster car than expected!

This motor is now definitely of interest for me to try.  :D    Thanks for the info!

Kyosho G22 motor is amazing, one of my first hobby grade rc purchases in 2008 was a RTR Kyosho TF-5 for the cost of a TT02 in germany at the time. The thing was rapid!

My first Kyosho, have to decide if I’m gonna paint it box art or match one of my 1:1 bikes... or get another and do both could be another option

I think the Hitec HS225BB servo will fit and it's a wonderful servo that you'll still find for 20$. Older technology but still made after 20 years, for a reason ;)

I'll have to pick one up to try, or maybe a couple, I have a feeling I might end up with a few of these bikes :D

My sick pup has kept me very busy and away from rc the past couple days so here are some of this week’s highlights

I have a TS050 body for something, maybe the tc01 but probably an f1, a couple hop ups, a motor for grasshopper maybe, and some ESCs for everything but the tc01 I was ordering for in the first place

The G Series Motors only seem to pop up here now again so just grab one when I can.

I wouldn’t mind trying the Le Mans motors but it would have to go in something special 😉 I believe the 30t is Kyosho recommend motor for a Turbo Scorpion.

Having just had a quick test run with a HW 1080 ESC paired to a Torque Tuned (as that’s what I had in the spares box) being able to drag brake on brushed is great for me. I haven’t played around with the settings yet but out the box the chassis came to a standstill as soon as the trigger was in neutral 😃.

It kinda feels like a Vintage Sensorless set up 👍🏻 Very smooth too.

@Pylon80 is correct, that's the servo I used. And yes, you may end up with multiple HOR's. I built the NSR500 and I have an RGV in the queue! You will really enjoy this build. The linkage for the rider movement is really clever.

My best advice is to paint as much as you can before assembly. Including the wheels, which appear to be white on the box art. The decals require "next level" patience, but the end result is very rewarding!

Also finding a battery for the HOR was a little tricky. I used a Turnigy 1300 mAh 2S Lipo. In case it helps!

That's very nice sir.

Interesting how Kyosho invented this little wonder then stayed stuck in the 90's with it for the past 3 decades. Imagine how an updated version with Ducati 916 body (or an approximative copy if Ducati don't want to help) would sell?!

Got this XB for the body. Not sure how popular it was back in the day. You can find the Toyota Yaris WRC in XB form but not as interested. Hopefully I dont regret not also buying it.

Servo 1252MG for the Fantom, ESC and 15.5BL for Optima MID build #2.

IMG_2022-10-27-164530.jpg.41081bc5c9dd29544ac05cfee5db5327.jpg

I am thinking..

Fantom will run the LeMans ESC, 21.5BL LeMans 480 Gold, 1252MG.

Optima MID #2 will run XR10, 15.5 BL LeMans 240, 1252MG.   I forget whether the fan was removable on the XR10, but if it is, going to take if off as my gearing is going to be super mild and want to keep it as small as possible due to tight space.

Finally, having been on a slow boat from Japan since 10th August...

The Delta is a very early issue; it comes complete with a rally cockpit and the sticker sheet is different to the ones available now. The shell and white plastics have yellowed a bit with age but will hopefully come up lovely once painted 🤞

Unexpected, unplanned, local barn find. It’s so scale it feels like a 1:24 model. I’m not one for really old chassis but I must say it feels very solid and substantial. My only other “old” chassis is a m05. Processing what the plan is next.

That’s sweet. I had one has a teenager, such a nice shell.
I spent an afternoon last year trying to recreate my old one in Forza

I may have ordered some totally unnecessary bits for the DT03. As well as some wheel hubs. Those tyres are so cool.

Bucket list car for me as an owned one a while back. It’s one of those that Tamiya got perfect in scale / realism. And bizarrely enough no one is reproducing them yet. Not off of this mold anyway.  Theres some 190/200mm’s from other brands that don’t look right at all.

Gorgeous.. I have the HPI version of this and it does look a bit off.  I'd much rather have a Tamiya version but I haven't been able to find one in Canada.

I still regret letting go of my 06 GPW AP2.. but priorities back then mattered more.

Yes the fan is removable, I run an XR10 in my Javelin without a fan as there wasn’t room for it. Paired with a 13.5t HW motor on 2s and 2 tooth bigger than stock pinion hasn’t had any problems.
