Well that will keep you busy and keep this thread alive with your quest for K parts

The rear diff might just be dried up grease - i built up my Mid gearbox a few days ago, but last night noticed it was sticking in one spot - opened it up, all seemed well but there was a small amount of hard, old grease at the base of one gear tooth that was causing the pause, and jump, with the centre gear. Wasn't easy to spot it, being black dried grease on black plastic gear. All sorted now and smooth as silk again :D

<_< What are these K parts you talking about , Don't know much about kyosho optima much "yet" .

I had one back in the old days , but didn't like it & was lucky to get rid of it . This is how i got my FOX

that i still have today . I wanted to get one to restore / Maybe / sort of because i had one .

Just need to get the mini mardave & i have got everything i had back then woohoo i think woohoo

Will keep stripping it down & get it all cleaned & work out what i need .

Also i will need to go through what spears i got with it . $$$$ Grr ....

Kyosho screws don't come up on ebay very often and tend to be as silly pricing as Mr Ts Ti screws. there are plenty of black m3 screws around (HPI do quite a few variants) but the awkward M2.6 are exclusive to K

Don;t forget a couple of screws at the rear of the side rail are reverse thread !

HPI does the 2.6 as well, found some at the LHS for dirt cheap prices.

A NIP Futaba Attack R... :-)

Looks lovely! My first hobby-grade radio set was a Futaba Attack R on 27MHz. Still got it, but it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as this anymore!

Just got the oil shocks for my King Blackfoot build, now I know what to do with the oil but can anyone tell me what the little pot of grease is for?

As far as I can tell from the manual on tamiyaclub, the King blackfoot has friction dampers so the grease is for the rubber tube inside the damper cylinder and also for the piston rod. Don't know what the oil is for?, did it all come together?

Also the King Blackfoot ones are red in colour so I guess they are blackfoot dampers.

Maybe the ones you have are oil dampers but both blackfoot's had friction dampers as standard.

Sorry I don't think I was clear enough, these shocks are a kit I bought off eBay here: http://bit.ly/12ELpHO

I'm fitting them to my KBF as an upgrade from friction shocks. I was only expecting to get shock oil in the kit which is self explanatory but they've also sent some grease too with no instructions to suggest what it's for.

Any ideas?

I'd guess for the rubber seals and piston rods during assembly, but since the rods are already installed it is a little strange !

Thanks chaps, I guess then it's in case I ever want to strip and rebuild them, I have some grease ready and waiting. I'm gonna assume the seals were already greased prior to them being built.

Nice tyres by the way!
