Picked up a couple of lipos for my TRF801XT build today. Need to solder on some Deans in stead of those giant plugs that are on them though.

Honestly, i would never stick a lipo in one of my cars that isn't hardcase.

It'll be interesting to see how these fit - Paul had to offset his twin 2s packs to follow the shape of the chassis side guards

Well, I have driven softpacks in my cars for more than 10 years, and never had an issue. Actually the only issue I have had, was with a hardcase, thas was pushed up, so it couldn't be in the hard case anymore.

I hope they will fit in the batterytray, and I can't see why they won't. I am using RCM conversion set. I have used that previously on a MBX6T conversion, and it was fine.

Call me crazy, but I couldn't stand the thought of this not being sold and possibly ending up in the bin. So I bought it. I have a sentimental attachment to Beatties. The Southgate store was my local, and it was the spares headquarters. Every spare and hop up available at the time was kept at that store for dispatch of mail order. I also did a little work experience at the store. I just wanted to work there full time and never go back to school.

Picked up from my mailbox a classic Tamiya TamTech car, the 1:24 BMW GTP:

imag0277a.jpg

The box was slightly damaged during shipping, and there was all sorts of unidentifiable crud lining the box, so I got to building it and three hours later finished the included parts. Paint will be addressed later when I am out of the dormitory and into a place I can paint... Finding electronics or a battery will not be easy, either, and you may or may not have seen my post requesting them in the trades forum. So if you have them or know somebody who does, send a message to me!

Finished buying things for the year, I think... except Jason still has to send me the correct parts for my Buggy Champ. Waiting on them for two months now.

I attempted to re-enact this photo shortly after mating body to chassis. This was possible after some metal ball bearings arrived in the mail today - a set of 6 (which is insufficient to complete one car, so I ordered two):

And then again with IBIFTKH's post, which appeared in the original photo in the background, on the screen:

The ball bearings I used for the front wheels did not fit, though - I will take it up with the vendor...

Got my order in from Banzai although the label on the box concerned me at first:

Luckily it wasn't monosodium glutamate but an RZ motor!

My first Banzai order arrived today, never tried the tuned motors before so I thought I'd get one for my rising fighter and one for my boy's grasshopper. Forgot what that pinion gear is for, grasshopper maybe? I'm sure I'll figure it out!

The day before yesterday I got an original vintage new built Super Shot.

Today the postman brought a nice lightly used Wild Willy, rare PC brush paint cans and a mint 1986 RC Guide Book (my third of this print).

And a package turned up from banzai :D

Overall shipment time to delivery was less than a week which is great considering the price I paid, it seems that for small things like motors it's a no brainer. Shame they did not have my shocks as I had to order of jazhobby on eBay and they are quoting a month :(

Still here's a photo of sport tuned motors to keep everyone happy ;)

Well what the heck! The wife's out with both the kids but I'm not watching the Winter Olympics, hitting the PS3 or tinkering with RC stuff, I'm being a good boy and getting on with building some bathroom cabinets when the postman delivers these...

It's like fate just wants me to play with toys!

Now that's a whole lot of Willy, big thank you to the peeps that pointed me towards RCMart for these, it's the best £20 I've spent in a long time. Looks like I have some custom driver fitting lined up :) I also got the mini Emax servo I was hopping to use in my Twin Hammers gear change, but it is a little smaller than expected! We'll see how that turns out next week.

Ok back to the bathroom :(

Today is a good day :D I give you... Half a Brat :D

Sadly the postman saw fit to kick the s#*t out of it so the box is a mess but this eBay find off a fellow TC member will be my project for after the HB... Which is after the lunchbox ;)

Getting hold of a new brat rolling chassis just missing body's and esc was an opportunity I could not miss as I have a dream to build a baja bug runner and the brat is the perfect candidate.

My Tamiya Front K Block Tyres arrived, meaning I could crack on with stripping the old worn tyres of the DF03 wheels and fit the new tyres. Hopefully go out with my Vantage and Madcap tomorrow with my 7 month old son to watch for fun :)
