  • Tamiya FF01 wrecker - advertised as "decent" condition, turns out to have cracked shock towers, gear box cover & front uprights, and bent (!) rear lower arms. Also included: totally trashed Mugen Civic body :D Has some 'innovative' solution for more rear camber - just take the original upper arms, drill a new but too small hole in them, and crudely screw the screws through: presto 10 degrees extra camber! :P Thankfully I have the spares and aftermarket hop-ups to fix most of the problems...
  • Eagle racing aluminium FF01 lower arm mount
  • Kyosho TF-2 with alloy shocks, carbon chassis, box, manual, 13T brushed motor, and Tekin racing ESC (with box, instructions, etc.). Only observed problems: cracked servo horn, and a minor lack of bearings.
  • Kyosho GP-10/Rampage Corvette chassis only, covered in dirt and lacking 1 wheel and some minor parts, but includes the elusive rear belt, fuel tank, linkages, and two servos (covered in more dirt). Together with my other chassis this will yield one chassis lacking a body and engine...

This morning the Fighter Buggy Restoration arrived..

quick inspection says it needs a few plastic bits at the front end, a new chassis tub (current one heavily scored), a steering servo, new shell (spoiler section smashed) + decals, and four new wheel rims.

A quick tot up says its just not worth the effort, purely spares only - the required parts alone will cost more than a new Rising Fighter !!

The postie delivered to me a metal spur gear for my Baja 5B. No more melted plastic spurs! In the same package was some very meaty all terrain knob tyres also for the Baja 5B.

I threw the new parts on and gave them a test. I'll get lots of driving out of these new tyres. They grip just as well as the kit tyres on all surfaces and you can do donuts on the tarmac and they don't wearout. Put 2 tanks fo fuel through it and you can barely see any wear. I do have to be a bit more careful when cornering (or sliding) at speed now, it will traction roll.

Yesterday a big box arrived, full of polystyrene chips and when i eventually found the contents - my Manta Ray resto project (its going to take some cleanign up !)

This morning, jiffy envelope with my Grasshopper II resto project (not too bad by the looks of it), and a set of bearings for the Fighter Buggy Resto.
