Received this today from Banzai Hobby, it took a total of 10 days from order to arrival including a days delay at the Parcel Force depot, and although I got stung with a customs charge I still saved £90 :) :D

I know these are a bit like Marmite:- not to everyones taste but I have always liked them but could never afford one.

This will be a project for the future as I have others to finish first.

I let ebay & boredom get me again.

An open box Grasshopper kit:

Luckily, all pieces were there, so I got a decent deal...on a kit I wasn't planning to buy

I depleted my FAV fund, so I'll have to start over. The good news is, I have something to do now :)

Got a vintage tree for the Honda NSX, so now I'm ready for the re-release of the NSX.

And I got this one yesterday. Box is all beaten up since the sender did a really bad job in packing it.

This morning - 54 x 1150 bearings - that should last me about 5 weeks looking at the project queue !

later in dayTamiya alloy servo hop up for hi-torque servo saver

Are those alloy servo hop ups to be recommended?

a load of bearings from RCBearings and some Hornet D parts.

That's funny....

Yesterday my left damper mount broke in two pieces, after building my Hornet in January it was in a detolf - never been driven....

That damper mount/body post bit seems to one of the more fragile parts of the Hornet.

I had to look up Detolf - thought it was a spelling error :P

Since my missus bought me a 5.5hp OBR motor for my Baja 5b for xmas, I have noticed a distinct lack of traction   so I ordered some of these nasty motocross style tyres for some divot digging, turnip trenching, council park conflicting action B)

Postie brought me the DF03 screw bag D from Tony's Tamiya Parts (Europro975). Not always the cheapest on Ebay, but extremely fast delivery if you just don't want to wait for parts to arrive.

Bag D contains the spur gear bushing, so now I can continue with my Dark Impact rebuild, until the next thing stops me.

Also got a 4wd touring and rally car plastic gear set. The instructions say it's not compatible with off road buggies. I'm not sure why. I thought this gear set is found in the TA01/02 trucks which are off road, and the number of teeth on both spur gears seems to be the same, going by diameter of gear and module of teeth. Tamiya and their funny ways.

My Tamiya Boomerang arrived today, and to say it is a little rough is an understatement!

Just one look tells you there's plenty wrong with it, but I'm not one for buying a new build ;)

I can't comment - first one I've bought, although i feel its more visual than function given the hi-torque servo saver is pretty robust to start with.

Cheers mate, I'll give you a shout when I get a chance to strip it down and see how bad it is.

The tyres are frozen solid, never seen anything like it if I'm honest!

Postie didn't bring it - I collected it from a workmate - but it is a new acquisition so it fits with the theme of the thread:

The decals have been quite poorly applied, the paint is worn in several places, and there are minor cracks around the front body post hole, but since it cost me the princely sum of £0, I am very happy with it.

It has been painted box-art silver, so it matches the wing that came with my recently-acquired DF01 chassis. The paint issues can be sorted easily enough, as can the cracks, and the decals are fine for a runner. I think it will do quite nicely!

Brand new Grasshopper chassis, B and C parts. Sold as Hornet parts, potato, potarto. Also, the seller emailed me, after I'd bought and paid for the items, requesting more money to cover the cost of postage as it cost him more than he thought would

I've never had an experience like that before on Ebay. It takes all sorts, I guess.

Today an old mint condition copy of Model Cars magazine featuring the Midnight Pumpkin. Back in '88 the kit was £68 according to the article.

Also got a basket case Pumpkin chassis which I already have a body and mounts for:

Just met up with Percymon to take delivery of my new (to me) Superclod, I've never seen one of these in person and I can't believe how big they are! Can't wait for better weather to give this a run.
