Thanks for the comments guys

I won't do a build thread, as I don't think Tamiya made stuff out of wood.

I will probably post a built cabin photo in the " what have you done today" section

After its built I then have the fun job of furnishing it with desks, display cabinets, electrics, etc

Ohh as to the size of the Box,,,

The wood came on a lorry, the delivery guys said it was about one and a half tons of wood

Tamiya made a lot of wooden boats back in the early days ;)

Postie brought me some MIP V2 keyed axles for my Slash Ultimate, might have to order a second set for my new Stampede...

Nothing much today, just a new set of black TA03 body mounts.

But I have been lucky to buy a TA03 Reinforced low mount front damper stay (mega rare) and have been looking for one for ages!! :)

The Six-Million Dollar Project!

I spent a small fraction of that on ball bearings, which arrived today:

As my Honda City Turbo was already built with the gearbox's bearings replaced by my remaining ball types, I only had to replace the plastic bearings in the outdrives. I was also once again reminded of the superiority of ball bearings in less rolling resistance!

I recieved a Tamiya Opel Calibra #58150 for Christmas one year..I think it was 1995 or 1996. Anyway, I built her, put in a WAY too hot motor, drove it a bit and proceeded to tear it up in a dark, pothole-strewn lot. At night...I ended up trading it in on a stadium truck kit, and I went oval and off road racing.

I was thinking of that model, and regretting the trade, when I saw this on Ebay..it was reasonable, NIB, and I won it!!

No one else bid, and so I got it without having to mortgage the farm. I recieved it today..

I've ordered bearings for it, and I think I have a motor picked out, so I should be able to start on her soon..

Very nice!

I like the idea of being able to re-add vehicles to ones fleet that one regrets selling. Somehow they often turn out better the second time around too!

That's cool!! So, does it tend to induce a little oversteer in 4WD buggies? I had a Terra Scorcher, campaigned it at our little track in Ramstein AB, it was a good buggy. Have fun!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that is bothered by this lower case P in the thread title. I'm not, am I?

Hello, my name is Kelly and I have OCD.

I've never noticed that till you brought that up...that's okay, I'm a little OCD myself, I tend to check that the front door of the house is locked 2 or 3 times before I get in the car....:)

I can almost guarantee you this one will. Full set of bearings, decent 27 turn stock motor, Novak esc, and I am bound and determined to fully recreate the box art on the body..which means I will have to use every decal in the kit. I've never done that, not even on a Grasshopper.

Btw, I had an order from Hobbyking and Tower Hobbies come in today. Got some heat shrink from Hobbyking, and one of their "Sport Tuned" 27 turn brushed motors. It's not a bad unit, broke it in a bit tonight on my little test stand, I figured for 7 dollars I wasn't hurting myself. Tower has some of the Tamiya screw bags in stock, so I bought some to keep in my spare hardware box.

Not the 20p, that's just for scale. Got sick of waiting for the UK Warehouse (if indeed it actually exists) to get some in so ordered it direct from HK. 7 days delivery and no customs charge.
