I've got the Tamco equivalent, seems to work quite well, although I've not finished reading the manual yet !?!

Not long taken delivery of the micro receivers, which is what I'll be buying instead of the normal supplied.

I presume you can get a battery pack for them, which is why it's on a plug?

Battery Pack is something like  1500mAH LiFe 3S 9.9v Transmitter Battery Pack.

I'm told you can get them from Hobbyking but I couldn't find them on the website.

Cost is about £10/£12 but check its correct before ordering.

May I ask you where you got the Micro Rx from looks good.

Tbh,with the price of AA's in the supermarket , I'm not too bothered.

Link for rx

Thanks Wooders28

I suppose it depends how long the AA batteries last as to whether its worth getting a Pack.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the difference between FHSS and RHSS?

Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum.(lifted of wiki)

FHSS is a wireless technology that spreads its signal over rapidly changing frequencies. Each available frequency band is divided into sub-frequencies. Signals rapidly change ("hop") among these in a pre-determined order. Interference at a specific frequency will only affect the signal during that short interval.

I saw an explanation somewhere , if you are driving on a motorway, you have 3 lanes to choose from, if ones blocked or slow, you use another.

Not sure about RHSS!?

Only issue I've had so far, maybe rushing into it, but I've bound 4 rx , and they all seemed to be stored on memory #1, but I did just switch and and bind them all straight away, so may need to goto mem #1-bind then mem#2 -bind etc.

Thanks Wooders28

Defination understood and if both the FHSS and the RHSS work then no problems.

Thanks for the help I do appreciate it.

I just can't help myself. I see one of these things and I have to buy it.  This was waiting when I got home today. It's pretty much perfect except for some peeling decals but it's a RE RE so that a cheap easy fix. I'm even liking the silver so this will be an easy clean up and decal job with some clear over it to keep the decals from trying to jump ship again in the future.

I'm beginning to thing I have more of this chassis than anyone else on the planet. We should take a count. :) I'm going to be in serious trouble when the green cars hit the market again with the GH2.

Just took a quick count but I know there are a few more  as the green ones are not here.

6 GH1's

2 GH2's

2 Hornets

5 Super Hornets

2 Hornet/Grasshopper based truck conversions.

1 Rock Buster

7 mostly assembled chassis's

9 more chassis's in various states of disassembly.

Pretty sure there is 1 more Black GH and 4 Green GH's at the other house and maybe another Hornet. I believe I have 2 of the metallic editions but I only see one here.

3 NIB re-release GH1 bodies with decals and a spare rock buster body with no decals.

Thats all I can find at the moment. Yes I'm sick... I know!!!!!! :)

Postman brought my new 3 channel Core Radio today.

Had a quick look over it and it seems ok I'm not happy it takes 8 AA batteries

but with the features it has its not worth bothering about.

Anyone else got one of these?

Alan

I've got one of these, they're fantastic. 15 models can be run on the one controller and the fact it's stick was the reason I got it. I've got an additional micro receiver from model sport too. They're soo tiny even compared to the mini one that's included.

Grasshoppers/hornets. I've got one and a half. I'm thinking of trying to turn the half into a whole one again. Missing a few vital parts. Love the grasshopper/hornets. B)

Does anywhere sell just the grasshopper body shell in green?

No but you can easily reproduce the green shell as I'm pretty sure it's just tamiya TS52 paint inside and out. I've not dared scratch mine to find out but I'm pretty sure the body is not molded in green.

Thanks racer. I was thinking it was molded in green but if it's sprayed on it makes things much easier. Wonder why the grasshopper shell is so expensive though? They cost about £25. I got a new lunchbox shell for £10 and the mudbull shell which isn't much different in design is £12.

THAT IS a sickness, for the life of me I can't recall the TC member that had an avatar of a real GH with like a Tamiya logo on its side, perhaps you can dig him up and see if you guys have similar counts, but I am beginning to think you might have more than anyone.

Hey Terz, I am thinking the price is a simple rule of SUPPLY and DEMAND???

Go on, scratch it by accident ;)

Well if you ever decide you want to share your sickness I'll buy a Super Hornet off you and As for that Core radio it looks good, receivers only £15 each that's pretty good and in the UK for quick posting too. ( Am sure those 8 x AA will last forever don't worry)

Racer, you'll definitely know the quick answer to this, will a Super Hornet shell fit on an original Hornet chassis?

Also, any pics/threads of your truck based Hornet/Grasshopper?

Before you buy a grasshopper shell jason how did you attach those spotlights to that purple chassis? The reason is that I attached them on my old shell by screwing them up through the underside of the of the holes that mounts a grasshopper shell so those holes will be threaded the other way on the old shell (from the bottom, rather than top). If you copied this on the new shell the same would have happened. Just wanted to bring this up incase it causes a mounting problem.

The spotlights are not attached to my new purple lexan shell, they are still attached to the chassis as when you sold it to me... using those two little plastic lengths.

I wasn't looking for a Grasshopper shell pal, was looking at plonking a Super Hornet shell on but it seems they aren't available to buy new anymore do that ideas hit the brakes :(

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

I've also reached out to you on Thingiverse via you R53JRC user name.
