Must admit this looks interesting. Can performance be un-mehed? What's lacking? Any recommended hop-ups or upgrades?

Looks like a Traxxas Revo, performs like a Tamiya.

It's an Avante 2011 underneath with big wheels so pretty much maxed out on tuning as stock but with the vintage of the Avante.

You know the score, happy at 15-20mph impending destruction at 60mph :)

Those mag mounts look very near the ones I bought a few months ago. They are a bit wonky on the standard diameter bodyposts that Tamiya include in the kits. Then there is the issue of getting the mount to contour to the curves(or in my case, the flats) of the body you want to mount. Oh yea, how could I forget the fact that they add some 15mm in height to the body mount poles themselves, so don't go looking for a slammed look.

Admittedly, I have yet to fit the rear wheels and glue the mounts to the body of my BMW 2002 but I was impressed with the Killerbody stealth mount set I bought. It includes screws to secure the lower mount to the body post. The body posts do need trimming down - I'll need to lower mine by approx 1 hole - but I think if you are happy to do a bit of assemble / measure / disassemble / cut / re-assemble / measure / stick / stand back and cheer (or groan) then they should work well.

My only concern (other than not destroying the body/chassis just to install them) is whether they can hold up in high speeds/maneuvering without moving.

Crumble there is only one more car on my purchase list for 2017 and that's something with a 225mm wheelbase just to fit the HPI 2002 BMW shell on... Hope I don't  miss your finished one.

One more car? Hah! Think you're worse than I am for picking up cars!

Struggling to decipher "... Hope zip fint miss your finished one..."

I'm hoping I can get round to finishing the 2002 off. It came on a battered M03 chassis and I've put it on an M04 but it still needs motive power and steering - which I think I have now assembled through various purchases. Now I just need the time...

I wish I had bought some KILLERBODY branded mag mounts to be honest, they sound like and look like they have it nailed for ease of use. I can tell you that with my fitting trials, I have simple taped the metal to the area of the body I want it to be and then fiddled with the mag on the body posts, most of the time, I could successfully pick up the car by the body and they didn't separate, BUT, it is simple clear office tape holding on the body at this time. I think it could handle speed, but if your "maneuvering" includes rolling the car over, well, I don't think it would hold up to that too much.

well yesterday I got this pretty big box trying to remember if I had bought an rc.........

IMG_2478_zpsmc9c5oq1.jpg

only to open it and see what was in there..

IMG_2480_zpshaoklhyw.jpg

man did they make sure NOTHING happened to this decal sheet....

IMG_2479_zpsaqj65nyw.jpg

neither did I so I promptly folded it up and stored it somewhere safe.............

today I got in some stuff.... switched from Spektrum to Futaba's FHSSHTDHSSSS system (the cheap one is all I need). Also picked up some spare receivers to go with it.

Have you used the 3PV before? I see they work with both the R203GF and R314SB rx, and the R203 are cheaper and I also have 2 already. I take it this is a cheaper version of the 4PV which looks great, and this has a lot of the functions anyway, so probably just as good for 99% of people. This is looking a good option for my son, good price and quality, and I'm not convinced by Flysky.

I haven't, but I have never been let down by Futaba radios and have always held a grudge with Spektrum since they updated the software with the DX4C to stop working with the original receivers.... Yes it is a cheaper version of the 4PV but still has a ton of features and you're right about the receivers, they also work with the R204GF-E which are only a little more than the 203GF and that way I don't have to deal with the antennae no matter how short it is. :)

Going into the KF2, with the reedy motor, means I can move the motor to the different positions depending on grip, and with 110c, should have some poke! 😁

Cool I think I might need to look at these shorty packs for either my F103GT's or F104W Forula 1 cars as they have very low slung shells with not much room for anything underneath, might need to use HW 1060 ESC's under there too.

Those hobbyking super short at £18 wouldn't be bad either.

These are really thin though, thinner than the hobbyking ones.

Nothing too exciting but I finally managed to get a battery retaining strap for my falcon. It's a rather nice cast metal one instead of the plastic original which I've never had any luck in finding for decent money. I think I'll attack it with a couple of polishing mops and make it nice and shiny to appeal to my inner magpie.

NOW you can see just how much bigger that truck is to the Blackfoot, EVEN the box is much bigger.

Oh boy, you are a happy boy, don't break your face with that smile so big. ;) I do know the USPS has stepped up its prices, I don't know if they have stepped up their game, but their prices, YEP!!! You ought to get some good use out of those bits.

Just a TBLE-02S to get my Plasma Edge II going again, which has always been the donor car whenever electronics are needed.

People get such cool stuff delivered, not sure my esc should rate a mention!
