Few more practical things including a cutting mat.

Where did you get your knife and blades from? I’ve struggled with Modelcraft knives losing their grip on the blades and whilst I’ve seen the x-acto knives available, not the extra blades.

Local craft shop but loads of on line craft shops sell them. Are you in the UK?

Did you buy a cutting mat because every build thread on this forum shows one? I did...

I have because I wanted an A2 one. I wouldn't mind A1 but not sure if it would be unnecessarily big to store when not in use.

Are cutting mats genuinely useful? Or mainly just something to work on to protect whatever is underneath?

Yes, and in many ways they are essential.

It gives you a great work surface even if not cutting and the non slip surface mats really do help.

Also makes a good backdrop for photos.

Not much in the post today... Just 2x Mk1 SRB front suspension setups + another set of Mk1 front arms & towers, Mk1 gearbox & rear suspension, F150 Ranger front body post & hoop, 2 sets of original Scorcher door handles, driver figure for a Rough Rider project, new tyres & driver figure for a Bear Hawk project, 4x crawler wheels + tyres for a Wild Willy project, a multitude of random parts for FAV/Wild One for yet another project. Oh & this arrived as well, thank God I have a garage that only I have access too!

Most of all I'm happy about the 4 litres of De-Solv-It graffiti remover that arrived so I can properly strip about 10 shells waiting to be be repainted :)

2 packages for me today.

20171024_103932

The TA07 from HobbyKing was a surprise as they didn't provide any tracking onfo etc, and the courier company who dropped have never successfully delivered a package.

The Speed Passion 5.5T motor was a gift from @Wooders28 which made it over from Scotland.  That will be given a run in the TA07 over Christmas for a speed run attempt.  I won't be threatening the front runners as I'll be on 2S but it will be fun.

Glad it made it! I was beginning to worry 🙄

I think its a 7770kv motor so you're maybe in with a shout, I'd be disappointed if you didn't make it onto the leader board!

If it says Pro on the box there's no excuse for being last.... unless it's only you running ;)

I have excuses lined up already. Clearly I have a few meets for shakedown runs and setup. Then getting used to this indoor/carpet/grip/onroad thing. Then my kit is USD $199 and I'm racing people with kits worth 3 times as much. Then my esc and motor isn't orion/tekin etc. Then i switch to 13.5T superstock complaining that 21.5T is just chequebook racing, and repeat. See, I've got 2 seasons of excuses!

Ok ok BS award of the year goes to Mr Gilham lol.... you must be a lawyer! ;)

Dont forget your car was built by an amateur and the driver head ( most important bit - it sees where he is going FPV) was painted by a kid.... more for you.

A fairly hefty parcel has arrived which could contain any number of kits I have ordered to be honest.

I suspect though it is going to be another Juggernaut 2 which I will depending on condition, I will be splitting for spares and refurb.

I was itching to buy a kit, but the black Porsche re-release has been delayed.

I went in to the garage at the weekend and saw the stack of unfinished projects in boxes on the back wall.

One of the quickest wins will be to finish off my BMW 2002.

So today has brought Velcro to fabricate a custom rear body mount and an Rx.

Plus an X-Acto knife (thanks for the tip @Prescient)

To get my boy’s Dual Hunter running next summer, I have an ESC, steering arms and two 55T motors.

I was sure that I had got some motor screws for my 2002 but who knows which box they have gone into (spares reconciliation is a task  for this winter) and my motor cover went into hiding so I picked up a few spares. Then the motor cover reappeared!

The motor screws and some other project parts are on back order so I’ll have arriving at some point in the future…
